Anyone else believe that the Kossith are a Qunari invention to hide the fact that they're an artificial race? Of course, much like the Dalish, the current Qunari have no idea about this and believe in the existence of the Kossith. Just some random thoughts that came to me as I heard IB talk about them...
Kossith real?

Their philosopher and the Qun founder Koslun was a Kossith, after his teachings they became qunari, Alas the Imperium thought that with a new name they'd need a new look..and so it was by the will of the Archon horns grew on their heads and thus became cows.
Fitting for their new philosophy a cow knows only how to be a cow.

A mad elven science project one of the elven "gods" was obsessed with animals or something can't remember the name. I imagine they tried to mix their elven slaves with dragons well that's my theory.

Indeed, it's rather hilarious. Every time we see the Qunari they keep insisting they're the only civilized race, right before going all herd mentality and stampeding off to their inevitable deaths.

Word!

Gotta appreciate the Imperium's prudent and foresight with the qunari creation, Tevinter hit the jackpot with this one.

Someone really needs to do those poor suffering cows a favour and put them back on the farm, where they can graze to their hearts content and not have to worry about the terrible implications of trying to think for themselves.

See how much happier they are when handled properly?

I think that might be preferable to belive than the idea there's a race out there that made the qunari flee to thadas with their tails behind their legs. This being dragon age they likely really do exist and will show up to ruin the qunari's and everyone elses day while making the Qunari look both primative and nice in comparison.

I hear you and i raise you this.

Have them silly cows replace their "Koslun tome" with this comprehensive guide of all the aspects of what it means to be a qunari.

The Kossith as far as we know are whatever the people whom the Qunari descended from and later separated were called, but according to lore and Word of God, the name doesn't refer to the actual race of the Qunari. Most likely an ethnic group of sorts. But until we have more info on the culture of the Qunari and their history much is just speculation based on what little we already have been told. The Iron Bull claims that the Kossith didn't look like Qunari, and while most Qunari either don't know of them or deny them entirely, it is said that some Tamassrans have knowledge of them, and of course, Koslun is said to have been Kossith; I think it will be interesting to see how Bioware reconciles this information. EDIT: Interestingly, the Kossith, unlike the Qunari, actually have names. Something incredibly drastic had to have occurred for Qunari to abandon them entirely.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Qunari have similar origins to Tolkien's orcs - they were elves once, but then changed. Qunari have pointy ears like elves and horns like dragons, and there is some evidence they're an artificial race. And the elven gods were far from saints, that's for sure. Experimenting with interbreeding? I wouldn't put it past them.

Perhaps the Kossith were the people (humans?) that allowed Ghilan'nain to experiment on them with dragon blood and turned them into Qunari.
Or perhaps the Kossith were just a northern barbarian tribe, and Koslun was their leader. He made the deal with Ghilan'nain in order to have power.

Ogres came from the Kossith as per WoT vol1. They're the same horned giants without the Qun.
