Now, while this is just a rumor I decided it was a good excuse to make this topic.  I also want you to know I didn't make this thread to claim Dragon Age was better than The Witcher or vice-versa. I'm asking you not only how you would personally feel about EA acquiring this company but about what additions and adjustments their touch could add to Biowares future titles(mostly Dragon Age and Mass Effect)

That all being said, while I've never played a CD Red game have seen Let's Plays of them. I would think they were good for the most part and wouldn't mind seeing them work with Bioware together.

I'd say it would be time to give up playing video games as a hobby and time to take up golf.

Bloody terrible because I'd be worried sick that Dragon Age would get the shortest end of the stick possible as a result.

Thankfully multiple CDProjekt sources are denying it.

I have to admit, I would find it absolutely hilarious.

However, I wish CD-Projekt all the best, since they own Good Old Games and I'm a big fan of that.

This. Really, having EA buy them out after all the talking up of the Witcher/CD Projekt Red... tears to feast on would be beyond glorious.

Someone clearly hates variety. Some of us actually know the history of what usually happens when EA takes over.

OSI, Westwood, Bullfrog, etc.

Ultima series destroyed

Wing Commander destroyed

C&C Destroyed

Sim City, pretty much destroyed

The list goes on.

So no, destroying competition is not a good thing. Competition is good for everyone.

Thankfully the rumors have been shut down, and CDPR will continue to improve and hopefully produce some more quality products.

I hope this doesn't happen, EA destroys everything they get their grubby little hands on.

To buy CD projekt would mean to seize the GOG distribution platform, which would probably catch the attention of the European Commission's anti-trust experts. The legal battle would look like Goliath versus Moby Dick and most probably end with EA paying a huge fine offsetting any profit they'd have made buying CD projekt, so even if some execs toyed with the idea, they probably were warned by their legal team that it wasn't worth it.

Ultima series destroyed.

For the record, I liked Ultima IX (buggy unfinished mess that it was), but it's a shame the series died.

This rumour is probably just that...

But imagine a Single Player Star Wars RPG created by CD Projekt Red.

Just IMAGINE it. And now you can curse me, because it'll never happen! :P

Actually, CD Projeckt Red is the video game developer. CD Projekt is the parent company that owns GOG and Cd Projekt Red. So the parent company could sell the developer without selling GOG.

Also for EA to buy CD Projekt Red it would have to be sold to EA by the parent company. If EA buys CD Projekt Red that would be a business agreement between the two companies. So CD Projekt would share equal blame or praise with EA.
