If you sacrifice the chargers you get a war table mission -failed assasination attempt inquiry- which leads to saving denerim from the fire.

With chargers alive there is no such mission which can imply that Denerim has burned without our help

Still, in Trespasser there is no information about what happened to Denerim

So, if everything is alright with Ferelden Capital, then what was that war table mission about?

Nope, nothing happens. Another reason not to sacrifice the Chargers.

It's pretty much a diverge point. Save the chargers? The venatori don't do it since they didn't take big losses from the Qunari. If you did, the Venatori take loses and start to get more aggressive thus the qunari alliance war table arc.

Kinda contraversary if you fail that arc and Denerim is destroyed in your playthrough and in Trespasser everything is OK

I hate that the war table missions pretty much have no major effect. Also, that quest line is not easy trying to figure out which advisor for each mission. I was so proud too when I eliminated the Venatori networks!

I fail about 50% of war table missions. Either completely failed or I do not get a next mission. So i'm even kinda happy that they do not have major impact, but its really disturbing when you have 2 contradicing events in 1 game

Or when Clan Lavellan gets wiped out because of Josie and nobody bats an eye! lol

Im my 1st playthrough that was mentioned by Sera! I too got it destroyed and in Trespasser Sera says that her contacts have found some elves of my clan who managed to escape and stay alive

But in 2nd playthrough I sent Cullen on 1st mision and didn't get next one so no mentioning=(

The War Table was in theory a way to incorporate contextual information into the story and give the player some sense of involvement in the overarching struggle against Cory because otherwise it would not fit in the game. In practice, it presented so many divergent variables and tracking and implementing each choice seems like a task that is impossible to implement. So, rest assured, a vast majority of the War Table missions will never be mentioned again, and a few will end up in the same place no matter what you chose.

So I would assume that even if Denerim burnt, odds are it "wasn't that bad" or it will remain ambiguous if it ever happened.

Ah interesting I have to go replay that. Funny and ironic that Sera would care about elvy elves.

I got a very high approval rate with her in that playthrough and she invited me to join Red Jenny,so maybe she cared not for elves but for her friend
