Does anybody think we'll get party banter in Andromeda, like in the Dragon age series.

For those who haven't played DA: In the DA series while exploring the open world your companions will have a little conversation every so often. They are sometimes humorous and sometimes a little bit more serious. This provides some of the best dialogue in the games.

Because Andromeda is going to be a proper open-world game this would be the perfect time to introduce party banter to the series.

They should, there was a lot of in the Citadel DLC and in ME's elevators, not so much in ME2 though :(

Not sure, Mass Effect normally handled party banter in non-combat areas such as the ship or the Citadel so it will just depend on how the missions are structured (i.e different maps for combat areas and non-combat areas)

so who would win in a fight between Kaidan & Shepard? my Shepard would rip him to shreds in an instant.

I hate party banters because mostly you can't join them and you miss most of them (or it's just me, they always spawn when Im going to tp or into combat). I don't want to miss content. Also, still hope for no open world. I hate open worlds. So many crappy quests. q.q

How is this relevant? Regardless, Shepard would probably win.

Probably not like Dragon Age, but I'm hoping at least something like ME3 where squad-mates react and talk about things that is happening around them and where they talk to each other in the ship.

That said, I wouldn't be against DA style party banter, it's one of highlights of DA games. Expect DAI. Since I had party banter bug that still isn't fixed and never will so very minimal amount of party banter for me. So hopefully no party banter bugs at least.

I'm still secretly hoping that ME:A isn't open world game.

Shepard, at least if she's my vanguard.

it's relevant because it's an elevator chat between Wrex n Kaidan in ME1 and gets referenced in the Citadel DLC.

Oh. Never used that combo when walking on the Citadel. Still, Shepard has more points for levelling up powers, and thus would probably win.

I think party banter is probably my absolute favorite thing about Bioware games.

Elevator convos were great.  Heck, the banter between a romanced Tali and your squadmate when you first go on a mission with her in ME3 is probably one of my favorite moments in that game.

But if they're going open world like they did in DAI, for the love of god they need to realize that they have to increase the amount of party banter.  There was as much banter recorded for DAI as there was for DA2 and DAO, but no one thought "hey, we're padding the game's play length with hours of running around the wilderness, maybe we need them to talk more."  So people got long stretches of silence (the banter bug didn't help).

I also really like when characters don't like each other all that much, and squabble with each other.  Having Aveline and Isabela together in DA2 is pure gold.  And listening to Morrigan and Alistair argue, or listening to Morrigan and Leliana get catty with each other if you've romanced both of them is fantastic immersion.

Even more than banter, though, I'd like to see them go back to a DAO style where the companions with you argue and bicker when you need to make big decisions.  If they can't have as much banter with squadmates because of combat, at least have them say unique things at the climactic decisions within major quests.  It adds flavor and replayability.

It was such a great Wrex moment.

Kaidan: I can't, Shepards my superior officer

Wrex:  You can'tThat's why Shepards your superior officer.  And that's why Shepard would win.

Some favourite Wrex quotes just 'cause...

"You're right, they're actually gonna let me eat you."

"Don't ****** in my ear and tell me it's raining!"

oh it's got nothing to do with talent points. in my head-canon Shepard would love to tear Kaidan apart for being such an Alliance brown-noser and a weakling. under normal circumstances he'd never be good enough to become a Spectre, given his track record in ME. not having the stomach for hard decisions, almost getting the Council killed, shooting at the first Human Spectre AND drawing his gun on same said Spectre. if he was in charge of building alliances instead of Shepard, the galaxy would've burned loooong ago.

It doesn't necessarily need to have to do something with talent points/ how many powers someone has. If cooldown is a thing and we have sentinel shep (cuz Kaidan's a sentinel too) she/he would overload lift grenade and take him out. Or just, ya know, let him die on Virmire. Or gun him down. Or throw rocks at him.

I could do without a lot of banter while roaming, but the squadmates should have a lot of interaction with each other aboard ship and should have dialogue during missions.

Sure, if it makes sense for the characters involved.

My fav party banter, and I wish they'd bring it back, was from DA:O when we could stop and interact just about any time; be it at base or while walking/exploring.  I can understand if it can't be done while on a horse (a la DAI) or in a vehicle (if we get one in MEA), but otherwise it would be nice to speak with one's companions any time, almost anywhere.

If it is in a non-combat area, then my team can make any comments or conversation they want to.

Why only the squadmates? Why not include crewmembers that aren't on the squad? Can't they interact with others on the ship?
