So here is how I will probably be going through with my search for Hakkon's Valor from here on out.

 

I don't want to dedicate too much time to this (only about an hour a day), so I will only be doing 5 runs per day unless I am not too burned out on Ferelden Castle, in which case I will keep grinding until my fingers bleed play a few more.  I also won't be playing 7 days a week.

 

Basically, just count on at least 5 runs a day 5 days a week.  I will likely end up doing _{a lot}more, but my absolute minimum will be 25 runs a week.

You absolutely should NOT feel obliged to play at any time.  Everyone knows going into this that it's all in fun and that there's a risk you may not play.   It's meant to be a lark.

Oh, I know.  If I felt obliged to play, I would be playing a lot more.  Basically that post was made to tell everyone that I will be playing as usual.  5 hours a week is on the very low end of how much I play, so I just set that as a baseline for people to judge by for their guesses.

Ha!  I was fighting for my life in a match with Twiff (just duoing) -- so much so that I couldn't even send a nice note.  The wee lad is actually gamertag WeeMacDuff.  He plays sometimes but don't expect any help from him.  He likes to jump on the beds and the couches more than he likes the slaying of things.

Personally, I'm surprised that this many people even take that much of a passing interest in my lack of a Hakkon's Valor.  It's not like I'm a pillar of the Dragon Age community like DragonRacer is.

 

Update:  6 runs last night, no Hakkon's Valor, no Descent blues or purples, no Superb Belt of Whatever Pact.  All in all, it was a rather unproductive night, other than the fact that we got to help out a nice new-ish player.  For some reason we couldn't find a fourth player, so it was just Proto, the Pug, and I for most of those games.  It went pretty smoothly though because the Pug was a Lego and he adapted to how we play very quickly.

As a habitual lurker (unless there are smiths jokes to be made + drinking), I'd like to assure you of your pillar-hood. I enjoy reading your posts and have shamefully stolen/utilized alot of your comments and advice. So thanks for that. As for the date of your Valor-ing: remember, remember the fifth of November...i'll be humming the 1812 overture in your general direction.

I get so jealous seeing all those hakkon great swords around. I keep salvaging bows and 1 hand swords to keep my chances higher and still no great sword. The one I want the most by far. But the staff and dagger are nice. The GS or the new axe are definitely my top 2 wants. Everything else can just be salvage. Never see any pc nm dragon runs anymore. If anyone needs another add underpromoted.
