i'm thinking about starting a new game with the new custom difficulty, but i do0n't know if the rewards are worthy the trouble...
from what i could search, people say it get a lot more challenging, but even so, i want to know if the rewards are worth the trouble.
Well u get some dlc items, fade touched crap, and sigils. So it's really up to you. Honestly they dont make the game that much harder

@OP, Trials are worth it purely for the additional challenge. Who cares what the rewards are, they are icing on the cake.
I started my canon play through with NM mode and a few trials on and they are very difficult and challenging.
I would recommend keeping on walk softly, if you do any of the trials, due to the fact that it gives enemies more character but it's really up to you.
The rewards are decent, but if you don't care about the combat in this game, then I wouldn't go for them.
Difficulty for the sake of difficulty is a hard thing to sell. I liked the trials though, thought they gave combat more substance. There is a certain monotony that takes over after playing for a while.

I am loving walking softly as i believe as that is the way to increase difficulty, better quality of mobs.
Love fighting rogues who use the same tactics as me. One templar archer did evade then leaping shot. Game on son. Itll be me and enemy rogue fighting here while companions are fighting their counterparts over there its amazing.
Yeah walking softly is really nice. 
Don't know about the others, I didn't feel like trying them.
Nightmare mode and the following Trials are active in my game, Even Ground, Walk Softly, Rest Easy, Travel Light and Grizzly End. Plus the fact I'm playing a Reaver, I'm literally dancing with death sometimes dying which is all good 
I'm enjoying the challenge and its really fun for me!

for me the trials are great. I had used mods before to limit xp and try to do some other things to increase difficulty, but playing with all the trials on in nightmare is a blast. Wish they had done this from the beginning.
