Considering that Inquisitor till now wielded unique, divine power it's no wonder they were knocked down a peg. And actually, quite a few people are excited with the prospect of possible disabled protagonist with some sort of cool, class-dependent and upgradable artificial/magical arm.
Can I just say that that would be metal as *insert an expletive in all caps here* and I would pay through the nose to play that. (Incidentally I did think about that as a possibility following the Trespasser ending).
But as much as I would love little more than seeing the Inquisitor come back as a protagonist in the next installment, I dont think it likely. It would be so cool, though - as others have pointed out, the character is down-graded enough that starting from square one again in terms of leveling is perfectly plausible (trying to return back to function after injury can be so damn difficult), and it allows for introducing new powers to explore and expand (such as the Magic Prosthetic Arm of Awesome). Additionally, there is a very strong element of a personal bond with Solas and the way his story and the story of the Inquisitor intertwine (regardless whether said bond is also romantic or not). So it would make sense, in a lot of ways.
However, I do not see the Inquisitor and co. making the move to Tevinter, which I think we can all agree seems to be the most likely location of the next game. And even at the end of Trespasser, the Inquisitor says something along the lines of that they will "find people he does not know", not that they would go there themselves (although yes, that can be interpreted in a number of different ways). What I am trying to get across is that perhaps the next game switches to Tevinter and the New Big Letter Protagonist, who proves themselves in a big way, and at the end, are they are approached by someone from the Inquisition (official or shadowy). The game after that could possibly center on the Inquisitor again - it was mentioned by one of the devs way back that they were thinking about multiple protagonists. So why not have a steady cast of three or four and rotate the games between them? They each influence their part of the world/sphere of influence in their own way, with all of it culminating in one final, all-out Avengers - style event. Or does that just not make sense? I feel like bits of it do not make sense.
