We may very well be getting a series instead of just an installment

You know, it's really fun to speculate with the Tarot cards. I read them and so guessed that Solas had a REALLY awful idea based on the meaning of the Tower.

The Tower means Unexpected or temporary loss of stability. But can also mean catastrophic and irreversible change If in the reverse position it can mean destroyed ambition and boredom

I kind of guessed Bull may or may not betray you based on his Qun card. It's the swords, right? That's an interesting suit.

There's a chance for a lot of people to die in the Dragon Age series: Leliana can be killed at the Urn of Sacred Ashes and even if she is she gets brought back; Morrigan can be killed during Witch Hunt and she still comes back; Ohgren claims you knocked him out when he's clearly dead and probably would claim the same thing now; The Warden is like Schrodinger's Cat because they have versions both alive and dead; Anders can be killed at the end of DA:A and when you meet him in DA 2 he claims to have switched out his body for someone else's and escaped. The list actually goes quite long, but what is considered "canon" after the game is over is all up to the writers.

If we let the Inquisitor die they would probably have a back-up plan of some kind. Heck, the ME team kills Shepard so you can have a class reset from ME1 to ME2 and so the Reapers really aren't expecting him to make a return from the pile of smoking ash he probably was in his suit when he fell through the atmosphere. No one expects the Inquisitor.....and thats exactly what we need, someone Solas wouldn't expect to still be alive.

They have a lot more freedom with trying to think of ways to fix some stuff that happened in Origins, in my opinion. We know that, at first, they didn't know it was going to be such a success and so hadn't given much though to its future. As such they had to come up with loads of different ways to fix some of the ways they'd boxed themselves in. Now they are building the games with the "future" in mind and are clearly making sure they cover their bases as to what to do with the Inquisitor, should we ever hear from them again.

Considering that Inquisitor till now wielded unique, divine power it's no wonder they were knocked down a peg. And actually, quite a few people are excited with the prospect of possible disabled protagonist with some sort of cool, class-dependent and upgradable artificial/magical arm.

Can I just say that that would be metal as *insert an expletive in all caps here* and I would pay through the nose to play that. (Incidentally I did think about that as a possibility following the Trespasser ending).

But as much as I would love little more than seeing the Inquisitor come back as a protagonist in the next installment, I dont think it likely. It would be so cool, though - as others have pointed out, the character is down-graded enough that starting from square one again in terms of leveling is perfectly plausible (trying to return back to function after injury can be so damn difficult), and it allows for introducing new powers to explore and expand (such as the Magic Prosthetic Arm of Awesome). Additionally, there is a very strong element of a personal bond with Solas and the way his story and the story of the Inquisitor intertwine (regardless whether said bond is also romantic or not). So it would make sense, in a lot of ways.

However, I do not see the Inquisitor and co. making the move to Tevinter, which I think we can all agree seems to be the most likely location of the next game. And even at the end of Trespasser, the Inquisitor says something along the lines of that they will "find people he does not know", not that they would go there themselves (although yes, that can be interpreted in a number of different ways). What I am trying to get across is that perhaps the next game switches to Tevinter and the New Big Letter Protagonist, who proves themselves in a big way, and at the end, are they are approached by someone from the Inquisition (official or shadowy). The game after that could possibly center on the Inquisitor again - it was mentioned by one of the devs way back that they were thinking about multiple protagonists. So why not have a steady cast of three or four and rotate the games between them? They each influence their part of the world/sphere of influence in their own way, with all of it culminating in one final, all-out Avengers - style event. Or does that just not make sense? I feel like bits of it do not make sense.
