I am eager to see the new alien species as well; I just hope that they are developed more in-line with how Chris L'Etoile wrote them, rather than being wannabe humans in cheap rubber costumes.

Also, can we have original aliens instead of recycled/re-skinned versions of what we have already encountered? No having the Khet being the 'Not-Batarians' of Andromeda or the Remnant being the 'Not-Reapers' please.

I hope that these new species are going to be multidimensional and not simply our enemies.

Agreed. I'm very curious about what we'll encounter in Andromeda. I hope there's a alien race somewhere that's not all that developed yet, so we can be the way more advanced, arriving alien-race for once! And maybe help those twonks out... or you know kill em all.

This. Can we please interact with the aliens apart from combat?

I am really tired of the common practice of introducing a potentially interesting species, like the Rachni only to have 99.999% of our interaction with them involve figuring out how best to shoot them in the face.

Can we have a nuanced approach to dealing with the new aliens we meet in Andromeda? If failing that, can we at least switch up the troupe of having the human-like aliens as the 'good guys' and the in-human ones as the mindless 'bad guys'? It would be a welcome change of pace if we discover that the race of space elves are the horrific monsters, and the spider aliens are our allies.

If the leaks are legit, which seems to be the case, there are two new species.

well in all fairness they are roach monsters and you do kill roach monsters.  I think its a universal law or something.  Also spiders need to die in a fire.

By all rights, in a new galaxy, we should see quite a few new races. I hope they'll come up with some really alien and weird designs. We have plenty of the humanoid races already. Time to go further out there and crank up the "alien" parameter. :)

a better cephalopod species. maybe a mix of a nautilus and an octopus. not really cthulu so much as a Cambrian Age meets the future.

or an arachnid style species. Space Cow meets scorpion maybe?

I'm more interested to see how the new race will react to the vast array of alien races that they are sure to meet when we show up.

Surprised by the lack of Wookie-esque aliens, honestly. Most seem to reptile and amphibian looking.

I guess Turians count as birds, since that seems to be the in-game joke, but I honestly see them more like giant ant people.

They have lion-esque faces, an avian frame, and insectoid mandibles...

. . .Ant-Lions?

Faces are a bit of both lion and ant.

Moving jaw thing always made me think of ant.

Well, only race I seen fly were Collectors and Reapers. Annnnnnnnnd maybe Hanar, depending if you count that as floating or flying.

Bird-Leg Ant-Lion People.

For now on, we shall only address Turians as BLALP or CLALP.

Preferably BLALP.

On topic though (Go team CLALP), I do think we need more mammalian/hairy species, but not at all primate in nature. . .ELEPHANT PEOPLE!

Just no more asari like case please.

I want alien that actually does look more foreign like and not human like blue chick with hentai tentacles on her head. Just please no more of that.

All of ME non-joke-races were basically humans with some alien elements taped on,

their culture or rather their unique "trait" mostly consisted of a single human characteristic blown out of proportions.

Realistically speaking, the odds that an alien race would look like bipedal humanoids are slim to none.

The Asari at least had "hentai tantacles" to diffrentiate them from humans, the Quarians look like humans with weird legs and electrical circuits under their skin. Turians and Salarians are slightly more alien, but even them are not truly alien.

The only likely assumption that can explain this and not break the fourth wall, is that the protheans or perhaps an even older cycle were responsible

for this, and in acts of genetic vandalism tried to "streamline" a large number of different alien races that they saw as potentially useful in the far future.

I hope ME:A takes the "Alien-ness" concept more seriously, but I have a feeling that things are going to remain more or less the same.

I really hope that the writers take a more serous approach to the 'other' elements of the setting as well. It's really disappointing to see all of those 'alien' aliens from the first game just get shredded in the sequels. The Rachni reduced to a brief cameo with a literal repeat of the same scenario from the first game regarding their fate. The Elcor and Hanar are turned into the joke races of the setting; despite their rather unique cultures compared to the other races of the galaxy; as well as constant mockery of their helpless ineptitude; forgetting that the Hanar are the ones that train the Drell as assassins, and the Elcor are described as 'walking tanks' by the other species' militaries. Etc.

It's sad that BioWare seems so intent at throwing away such nuanced settings in favor of human(-like) stories about parental quarrels and commenting on the latest social trends. Compare the variety of ME 1 & DA:O/A to ME 3 & DA:I and one can't honestly tell me that they don't see the sharp decline of the non-human elements as the respective franchises moved forward.
