I guess it's easy to fall into the trap of making aliens follow the basic 'one head, torso, two arms and legs' blueprint that we saw a lot of in the ME trilogy, but I would like to see something a little more daring. The Elcor and Hanar were good examples of sapient species that didn't look humanoid.

....Quarians look like humans with weird legs and electrical circuits under their skin.

Ugh, the revelation of how Quarian look under mask have been biggest disappointment in ME history.

I always had weird imagination of they looked like under mask only in ME3 to have this....

Spoiler

Just no, no, no and NO!

I expect one of the the aliens to be near human like... 'cause of the LI (our PC is human).

Also, from the cinematic trailer I believe I saw hoof-like feet from the alien attackers. Plus, I suspect there is no need for weird looking ones... Babylon V showed  us  reasonable and believable aliens... Farscape went too far in some cases... On the other hand, the Halo games have pretty good ones.

Humanoid is actually pretty damn efficient so other species evolving in similar ways seems plausible to me. Explaining rachni as tool users building and flying spaceships is harder to believe to me. Intelligent, sure. Use the claw things as hands, not so much.

Humanoid works for an Earth-like environment sure, but what about those aliens that evolved on planets completely different from us?

Consider the Hanar, they have evolved perfectly to fit their homeworld's conditions and they aren't humanoid. I would think that convergent evolution would only apply to those species coming from very similar backgrounds. We can say that the Rachni, or Hanar might be inefficient compared to bipedal ergonomics, but that is viewing them through a humanoid lens. Obviously, a non-biped would look awkward using something built for bipeds, but look at how both of those species were able to achieve spaceflight on their own terms and work complex technologies designed around their physiology.

Shapeshifters or bioluminescent aliens would be great. Also, Imagine having a winged squad member who can perform aerial attacks :o .

Please, BioWare, make it so!

Bioware have done a great job with the aliens in Mass effect until now. I really curious, too for ME:A :D

I hope that these new species are going to be multidimensional and not simply our enemies.

Definitely. It'd be cool to have enemies with motivation beyond being evil and you cannot comprehend us.

keeps things fresh.

How will new races keep anything fresh, if ME:A still focuses on humanity? That was the problem the original trilogy had. Humanity had way too much screen time, and most of the other races were regulated to being side kicks. Hell, we didn't even get female models to most of the other species. So why add new races, to just see the same thing happen yet again? The one race that should be left out of the next game (humans) will probably once again be the most dominant race.
