I'm a bit into Trespasser with my Lavellan having romanced Cullen and, while of course I love the fact that you can marry him, would anyone else have enjoyed it more if they had just had him propose, the Inquisitor accept, and then the ceremony was left to a later date? It seemed very strange to just get married right before the meetings with only Mother Giselle (and the dog) there when only literally moments before Cullen proposed. It almost seems like it was them eloping but it was never explicitly framed that way. And they've got no reason to rush it since the main threat hadn't arrived yet.
(Spoiler!) felt weird to me

I haven't played Trespasser yet, since I'm still in the main game with my latest character but I've watched the You-tubes (member of the "Spoilers-R-Us brigade)
and I was happy with the way the Cullen marriage went, although I'd been happy if it happened the way you said it too. I feel like my IQ will have been in a committed relationship with Cullen for well over two years so getting married on the spur of the moment would be not unexpected.

I'd just be glad you got a wedding, OP. Most did not.

I agree with OP.
It would have been enough to just have them talk about previously getting married within the 2 years to be honest. Random really suckage 'private' wedding (in front of some gossiping nobles/good plan there). Also the things they said during the wedding and their tones of voices made me want to projectile vomit on my screen, overly cheese.
I'm glad you could canon marry him though, it makes sense due to his religious character.

Glad to know you actually could marry him. All I got with Dorian and Cassandra was what I considered a rather poor joke with Varric telling Cassandra I was about to propose to either Dorian or her.
With Cassandra it was excruciating because she was awkwardly telling me now wasn't the time when I didn't have a clue what she was going on about and then finally the penny dropped with her that Varric had been pulling her leg. Pretty rotten considering Cassandra is a closet romantic.
However, I think the joke was even more cruel with Dorian. Cassandra passes on the fact she's been told I'm going to propose. Then realises Varric has been having her on. Somewhat surprised this is going to be an option, since I didn't think they did gay marriage in Thedas, I tell her that it wouldn't be such a bad idea and dear Cassandra encourages me to do so saying "follow your heart." Then I go and talk to Dorian and walk in on the leaving party. I've got no problem with what followed so far as Dorian was concerned; at least he finally used the dreaded "L" word but I did think it was mean of the writers to build up my hopes in that way. Then I read on the Wiki entry that it is implied we do tie the knot. I'd love to know where this occurs because it didn't happen for me.
I've yet to do my Josephine run. Can you marry her?
