Tring the game as a 2-h warrior. Currently level 6. Just upgraded to defender armor and have crafted a 2 hand sword with dps slightly better than the warhammer you get in the deluxe game. I just downloaded trespasser for the toggles but have yet
To respec my character
I play on easy and i die in tough fights such as
Waterfall demons
2nd rift in fallow mire
Fighting multiple bears
Party is mostly beefed up cassandra, solas and varric
I tend to burn through special skills 1-2-3. Then go to regular attacks which for the most part seem to do a little damage until special attacks
On tough fights i burn through 8 healing potions and i try and moniter health either uf i see they are getting low or when someone calls out.
Of note i just obtained 2 grenade options
I am not worthy of nightmare and wont ever be using sliders to make stuff less effective
Any strategy tips?

Demons by the waterfall, Fallow Mire and bears are way out of your league at level six, try to get a few more (at least 3-4) levels under your belt before taking them on.

It would help a lot, if you could tell us what abilites does your character and party currently have.

You're doing good so far for a newcomer to the game. Those tough fights are among the toughest in the entire game. You can try the following tips for now:

- try to position yourself so you hit enemies from behind, that way they have a low chance of damaging you when their attention is focused on Cassandra, and you will deal a bit more damage.

- try to pick up a couple mobility skills: Charging Bull (in the Vanguard Tree) or Combat Roll (in the Battlemaster Tree). Those will help you reposition. Charging Bull is especially good since it also builds up Guard for every enemy you hit, so it's a good skill to use from close range just to get behind your enemy. I think you start with a point in War Cry anyway, so Charging Bull should be easy for you to get.

- The Grappling Chain (upgraded to Kick down the enemy you grab) -> Mighty Blow is a common combo move for two handed warriors. It's simple, brutal and effective. Try to use them in succession if you decide to pick Grappling Chain in the Battlemaster Tree.

- The most important stat on your Armor is... Armor! Almost always upgrade to the highest Armor, you can't really go wrong there.

Waterfall demons

...

Fighting multiple bears

I don't think I know of anyone who has played this game, who hasn't had their behinds handed to them by those demons or bears at one point or another. :D

As for Fallow Mire, the bare minimum is around level 8ish, I think. And the further you go into that zone, the tougher the mobs get. Tops out around level 14 I think.

Also (this is just my personal opinion), 2-handed warriors are the most challenging class for new players to get to grips with. I know I certainly got roflstomped quite a few times in my newbie runs as a 2-h warrior. Hehe...

I'm no veteran (been playing an archer- easiest class, I believe), but I'd suggest this, since I beat those Hinterlands rifts earlier than the level recommended:

Focus all archers/mages on those damn frost demons (what I call them) first because they're lethal if they get a chance to aim at you, and take out the ranged wisp demons next, while keeping your tank with the best armor and taunting the fire (rage) demon, etc., and more or less kiting (since it can burn up anything near it). And keep everyone mobile to avoid aggro from other (melee) demons- rolls, stealth, Fade Step. That's the only way I could defeat them at lvl8. It'll be a lot simpler once you start the game with T4 crafted gear- heh. Of course, I beat it on the lowest difficulty, but still...
