The Viddasala, of all people, essentially calls you a meanie if the dragon's health gets too low before you free it.

Damn Solas with his kill-stealing.

Consdering all the lies Bull said,I'm surprised people still take what he said at face value. I didn't see any cuddlyqun in Trespasser.

Why not his name/job description literally means liar, what's not to trust

I know that a lot of people assumes that the contradictions inside the Qun (or perhaps more exactly inside how the Qun is operating) are swept under the rug; I often see that myself. But then you stumble upon nuggets of lore which shows that it isn't universal behaviour for the Qunari, like about their treatment of the Saarebas. It is also quite ironic that they respect so much Fen'Harel but try to oppose Solas. I wonder how our prideful friend would feel about the Qunari seeing what he did to stops the Elven Gods a proof that an act of magic can be an act of good.

Edit :

as for a "cute" Qun, well... this dialogue between Sten and the Warden shows that it can happen, if not intentionally from the Qunari themselves :

  • Warden: "Is there anything you like about Ferelden?"

  • Sten: There is... interesting food here.

  • Sten: You have a thing... it doesn't have a word in the qunari tongue. Little baked things, like bread, but sweet, and crumbly.

  • Warden: "Cookies?"

  • Sten: "Yes! We have no such things in our lands. This should be remedied."

I don't know why but the "This should be remedied" makes me think of a young kid asking very seriously to his mother to make him cakes.

It also makes me think that Qunari bakers really need to explain why there are no cookies........

Their treatment is the same. The difference is in the Saarebas' application.

True. But Viddasala obviously recognize the dissonance between what the Qun tells and what the Qunari do :

"Those of the Qun since birth do not understand why we risk using saarebas"

It has profound meaning. Obviously, Viddasala is a very high ranking Qunari, but she basically says that for the good of the world/Qunari, sometimes the Qun has to be... bent, for a lack of better term. It shows that the Qunari are far from drones,or emotion-less people. They have to rationalize the differences between their "religion" and their actions. In this case, she knows that using the Saarebas as she is using them is wrong in light of the Qun, but does it nonetheless. She doesn't proclaim that "It's okay, the Qun also says that", no, she resort to an example outside of the Qun to explain her position. I find its had so much more depth to the Qunari themselves (even if I would have favoured a text written by a Saarebas. Seriously, if only we could have had a Saarebas companion who truly believed in the Qun... it would have revealed so much more about them than a Tal-Vashoth or a Ben-Hassrath could ever tell us...Sigh. Too bad, Ketojan, too bad...).

Another example can be found here :

"I have questioned the Qun. I believe many of us have, although we do not admit it to each other."

That's the sort of lore I like the more about the Qunari. The one which makes them people.

Yes, the capricious nature of the Qun's "demands", and the differing interpretations of it from within their own hierarchy have been apparent for some time... not really to their credit, even if it does lend them some nuance. They really aren't what they think they are.

Short version: She is a man.

Bull explains that your role defines everything in the qun. If a woman fights than she is a man. Simple.

Once (a few years ago) I read in a blog  that a person found more acceptance in Islam being transexual than being gay, because if you are a woman you can be with man but men can't be with men. I can't tell if it was true of not but looks like the qun... (I doubt Islam accepts transexual people, perhaps it was about some specific "liberal" group? or was just a lie, really didn't bother to check)

LOL ARE YOU KIDDING ME

Islam executes trannies

LOL. They did it just to mess with your fragile MRA ego and feed your persecution complex.

Claiming I am an MRA because of my topic is like saying you are a landwhale feminist because you got butthurt over this topic
