Hi everyone! :)
I'm having a problem with the Trial of the Fool (the new Trespasser achievement that requires to activate the Take it slow trial to reach Skyhold at level 5 or less). It seems impossible to get, at least in my game.
I've started a new game for the achievement, but even if I avoid any fight, side quests, readings, codex entry, etc, of course I still need power to unlock the main quests. I'm trying to to get power and no experience points by completing the camp requisitions, but to get the materials I need to fight! It's unavoidable.
The first requisition is "Inquisition Tapestries", which requires 5 velveteen and 4 decorative gems. These are random materials found on humans. To get them I have to fight... which means I have to kill 5 templars or apostates in the Hinterlands to get maybe 1 gem and 0 velveteen. Doing so I'm already at half bar level 3 and I still can't get the materials I need, so I'm unable to get to Val Royeaux because I don't have enough power. At this rate there's no way I could reach Skyhold at level 5 or less! What am I going to do when I have to beat Alexius or Envy, and during the Haven battle? I can't avoid EVERY fight!
Do you guys have any suggestion? I'd really need some help. I'm playing on PS4 on Casual, with the Fair-Weather friends and Take it slow trials activated, I don't know if this may change something.
Thanks!

Save before you accept a Requisition...there are different ones, and some just require collecting minerals and such...reload and try again if you don't get a collection-based one.  You can use those to gain power without fighting (or at least, not fighting as much).

So the requisitions are random??
Thanks, I didn't know! I did 4 playthrough but I've always tried to avoid requisitions after I got some bugged ones (requiring materials impossible to find after I've cleared the Hinterlands) in my first game. I'll reload an older save and see how it goes. :)

I managed this one easily. Just don't fight more than you have to. Don't pick up codices and only do things that earn you power.

And don't unlock extra regions.

I really can't understand how it's possible to get this achievement. Seriously, how did you guys do it?? o.O
I just began Champion of the Just and I'm almost at level 4... NO WAY I could arrive at Skyhold at level 5 or less!
I swear I got all of the Power I have just from requisitions and unlocking some camps. I haven't picked up any codex/book/letter, I didn't do any side quest and I've avoided all of the fights I could. I'm doing the main quest only and I'm running away as soon as I see enemies. I didn't unlock any region a part from the Hinterlands (of course) and the Stormcoast.
Maybe the problem is that I've recruited all of the companions I could before reaching Skyhold? Because I'm trying to get the Fair-Weather friends achievement too.
Could someone confirm if it's possible to get both of the achievements in one playthrough?

As far as I'm aware, Fair Weather Friends is only concerned with the Grand Ball

No. It pops up as soon as you enter Halam-Shiral, but to get the achievement the Lover's trial has to be activated from the beginning of a new game. Otherwise it won't work.

With Fair Weather Friends, you only need to have recruited all possible companions before going to the ball. The achievement should pop right after the loading screen. Trial of the Fools is a lot trickier. Don't close fade rifts (or don't close too many) for power because you have to fight demons to close them, thus gaining experience. Do the little fetch quests that just give power and don't require fighting mobs to win. Like, I think it's called My Lover's Phylactery? Or bringing Lord Woolsely (spelling) back to Jimmy.

Not really: Fair Weather Friends requires to have all of the companions before going to the ball, yes, but with the Lover's Trial activated from the beginning of the game. The Lover's trial doubles all of their disapproval points, which means that it's not so easy to keep all of them: some may leave before Halam-Shiral if they disapprove of the Inquisitor's choices.
Anyway, my mistake was to recruit all that I could before Skyhold, that's why I was getting all of the xp points that you guys didn't get. Turns out you can recruit them even after reaching Skyhold, and I didn't know that because I've always tried to get them as early as I could. I just found this guide, it has been very useful: http://www.trueachie...achievement.htm
Thanks everyone for the suggestions! :)

The DQ's honored Templar has succeeded. I fail to see how it is impossible...

Sorry, I'm not sure I understood what you mean. ^^"
Maybe I didn't explain myself: I wrote that "it seems impossible". I didn't mean that "it's impossible/it's a bug/this achievement is broken", only that to ME it seemed too difficult. That's because I made the mistake of recruiting all of the companions too soon, gaining too many xp points. I should have waited after reaching Skyhold. :(

I saved first, then did the Mage quest and Haven battle, got the achievement then reloaded to do other things without worrying about levelling up.

The easiest requisitions are the Iron + Onyx one and the Iron +Drakestone one. Also the Black Emporium sells crafting items. I'd stick with just doing requisitions, don't find new camps or close rifts.

The Trial of the Fool was hard. Really hard. This is what I did.

1. Play a rogue. The stealth is handy. In retrospect, I should have chosen an archer because it would have made In Your Heart Shall Burn a lot easier, but I played a DW rogue and still made it, so it's possible.

2. Don't enter the apothecary's hut. You can do it using nothing but health potions, but it's challenging.

3. Farm the containers in Haven. You're looking for lambswool, silk, drakestone, onyx and iron. You might also want to collect gold and loot to buy better gear.

4. Don't craft. There's a lot of XP from crafting-related codices and quest completion. This will make IYHSB a lot harder, so if you aren't prepared for a super tough fight, this is the one piece of advice you may not want to follow.

5. Play on casual. IYHSB is going to be hard enough.

6. Don't claim any camps. You won't need them.

7. Don't close any rifts you don't have to close. These things are worth mega XP.

8. Save before accepting requisitions and decline any that aren't Field Tents (silk and lambswool), Geological Survey (iron and onyx), or Drakestone Survey (iron and drakestone).

9. Talk to Threnn to get the Inquisition Weapons requisition but choose no other dialogue choices. Talk to Mother Giselle to get the Healing Mixture requisition but choose no other dialogue choices. You can go up to the Lake Camp area to pick blood lotus, but don't claim the camp.

10. Use the Outskirts Camp as your only camp.

11. Once you have 14 power, sneak toward Redcliffe. Sneak around the rift by the gate by going up the hill by the tower and sneak past the enemies that spawn by the Blood Brothers house. Walk down the hill and close the rift outside Redcliffe.

12. Don't pick up any codices in Redcliffe and don't recruit any agents.

13. Meet Dorian and close the rift in the Chantry.

14. Do In Hushed Whispers. Run past all rifts except the one outside Alexius's throne room. You don't need to close them.

15. Don't talk to anyone in Haven except Threnn and Giselle to get their requisitions.

16. Have Spoils of the Qunari. That heavy armor is better than anything you will find for your level. Put everyone else in the best found gear available.

17. Keep several saves for IYHSB. You may need to back up if you leave yourself without a potions cache.

18. IYHSB will be hard. You'll be level 4 (your followers will still be level 3!) and the Red Templars are level 8. They can one-shot you.

19. Don't try to save the villagers. Just ignore your conscience and keep running.

20. Do not use the caches inside the gate. You will need them all, and wish there were more.

21. Save before the final catapult. Don't fight anybody you don't have to fight. Just run past them (use stealth) and run for the catapult. Try to avoid using the cache as long as possible, but don't be afraid to disengage and run away. The path back to the chantry will be clear, and by the time you reach it, you will have disengaged from combat and any dead companions will respawn with half health. Make your way back toward the catapult, picking off straggler Red Templars who ran after you. Try to save Captain Denam for last, but he may not cooperate. I got lucky and he ran into Segritt's house and Cas, Solas, and Varric whittled him down, but I still had to disengage and take the potion cache by Adan's house to get through that fight. Go back to the catapult and mop up any templars who might still be there.

22. Pat yourself on the back. It was a hard fight. I reached Skyhold at level 4 with 666 xp to spare before level 5. Coincidence? I don't know. The last fight certainly was the devil.

Really? You did Take it Slow without Even Ground?

You're a mad man.

Combo Take it Slow and Even Ground if you're not a masochist. If you are, do Trial of the Fool on Nightmare.

I don't have the dlc. I will get it when I get a ps4.

Anyways. I did a playthrough that got me to skyhold at level 6. Wasn't too hard. I remember avoiding a lot of fighting and just doing stuff that gives me power points, but not experience

I thought Even Ground scaled enemies to be your level or higher and therefore wouldn't have helped with the Red Templars during IYHSB since they already were. Are you saying that Even Ground scales them to exactly your level?

If so, don't I feel stupid!

Not impossible at all!

I got that on the first try and even then after having realized that I was doing too many quests and clicking on too many codex entries (all of which help level you up). Like an idiot, I just kept operating as normal doing pretty much everything, and after having set the trial to slow the leveling up process. Heck I was already lvl 3 and long before I could actually launch the "In Your Heart Shall Burn" portion before I wised up. I chilled out and managed to get to Skyhold [as a lvl 5] and breathed a sigh of relief when the achievement popped up on screen. I would not want to know how close I came to blowing it!

Why did you unlock the Stormcoast? You don't need to, so don't.

I finally got the achievement! Thanks everyone for your suggestions. :D
I had to reload a previous save and avoiding to recruit a few companions. I simply went straight to do Champions of justice and progress in the main quest until reaching Skyhold at level 4. After that I went to recruit the remaining companions. So far no one has left the group, even if some of them disapproved of my choices... so I think I'll be able to get the Fair-weather friends achievement too.

Why did you unlock the Stormcoast? You don't need to, so don't.

You're right. As I wrote before, I unlocked it because I thought I had to recruit Iron Bull and ALL the other companions before reaching Skyhold. I didn't know I could do it even after reaching Skyhold. That was my mistake and the reason I was getting too many xp. ;)

Really? You did Take it Slow without Even Ground?

That was another mistake I made: I was doing Take it slow without Even ground. :/

Play casual

Craft tier 4 as soon as you reach haven (golden nug)
Do only main story, fill requisitions for power (mother giselle gives one, thren gives another so you don't have to do it all in hinterlands)

It was pretty easy and I rushed to Halashiral to complete both achievements worked fine for me
