I hereby submit the idea that the DA4 PC be a dreamer. That every night, even as they move against one another on the field, Solas and the PC spend there dreams talking, playing chess, and otherwise realize they could be good friends if it weren't for being on opposite sides of a war.
It seems like a good way to serve the story of a cerebral opponent like Solas. (Whom could enter your dreams anyway, but presumably as a dreamer yourself you couldn't be harmed). Could even make Solas a hopeless LI (for those whom he wasn't in DAI). The villian as a love interest would be a little different I think.
For origin stories; The half elf from DA2 would be a good way to go. Or as a new "connected to the titan" dwarf. Even a Warden, maybe after the calling goes away they can have lucid dreams like with Archie.
Consider it Bioware. Consider the endless story possibilities! Apologies for the errors in punctuation ahead of time. I wrote this quickly and with the excitment of a small child.
