Are collapsible helmets realistic? Perhaps not.

However, drinking through solid helmets, and helmets simply disappearing during cutscenes are much more jarring for my suspension of disbelief.

And we all know that Bioware's cutscenes usually ignore the "little details", so they are going to choose disappearing helmets over actually

animating helmet removal.

Collapsible helmets may not seem like much, but they are the lesser of two "evils".

Either that or helmet removing animations. Or [insert a creative way to solve this problem here]. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the beginning of ME3 where Shepard and the team are seen putting their helmets on and off. That was great! But I guess it would be a pain in the rear to implement everywhere just in case somebody wears a helmet for the entire game. Seeing my Shepard getting kissed with her helmet still on was pretty damn funny, though. I mean, come on, I was ready for the final assault, I didn't know we'd still get a chance to make out. Seems my LI can warp despite not having it in his skill tree. I had been lied to the entire time.

Fully-collapsible helmets aren't a must for me.  I am well aware of the appeal, but they would have to put resources into designing a "helmet collapse" animation.  Additionally, they would need to make all helmets conform to a similar design so the same animation could be used.  If not, they'd need to use resources to design a second, third, or even fourth collapse animation.  That's too much.

I'd rather see more unique armor options and more weapons.  I'd rather see better character animations overall than waste it on a collapsible helmet, whose only value seems to be its cool factor.  That's not enough for me.

Well, yes, they'd need one extra animation per helmet design. I'd say it'd be worth it.

I'd rather have the helmet permanently on, than a silly collapsible helmet

I'm a fan of depolarizing visors.

Also Matt LeBlanc for a VA

Query: You would wish to subject Andromeda to Joey from Friends?

Mocking Statement:

Accusatory Statement: It is an idea that is nothing short of pure sadism, and can only have been made by a maniacal monster who denigrates the very term 'organic', and cannot possibly have any regard for the comfort and safety of all the souls in Andromeda.

Statement: I support this idea with every circuit and processor within my combat chassis.

As OP, I would just like to state that in now way do they have to be fully collapsible. They can just lose the screen visor or partly open. But still, anything better than the magic disappearing act on every cutscene.

Just. Do it.

There's plenty of development time to go. Don't say you weren't made aware of this. It's a fan request for longtime. It's the bee's knees.

Go get programming. Get programming Nao!

Thank you kindly :) And be sure to take all the time you need to make this game as awesome as possible! ;)

Maybe its already in the game.
