Just curious as to which mods are most recommended (and which are to be avoided).

So far, I like the "Dog as a fifth party member" mod.  (That's how I feel he should've been incorporated from the beginning.)  I've tried the "longer hair for females" mod, but that's turning out to be a distraction more than anything.  I like the idea of mods that correct glitches or errors in the original game (i.e. powers that don't work, armor sets that aren't complete, etc.)

I'm currently looking at mods from the Nexus site.  (Are there other good mod sites out there?)

Thoughts?

There are some mods that are only available from the projects section of old!BSN, including a few I consider to be well nigh essential to any install (tmp7704's female proportions fixes, and tucked hair), but apart from the odd modder who releases only on Tumblr and the like, the Nexus and old!BSN are the principal sites for DAO mod releases.

I always use the Dog mod, as well as improved tactics and combat fixes mods. I quite like the Dalish Mage mod, camp storage chest and Lock Bash too. The best mods are the ones that fix things Bioware never bothered to patch, or that implement things that probably should have been in the base game. There are also some nice re-texture mods that improves the resolution of some of the ugly low res textures in the core game. If you want to try something a bit more out there, there things like the "Ser Gilmore" companion mod, and innumerable god items.

Thanks for the link to the BSN site!  A lot of interesting stuff there!  I added in the female proportions and tuck hair mods.

Any recommendations on re-texture mods?
