To make a very long story short. If you got a player that doesn't move from entrace.

IT IS OK TO VOTE KICK.

And if you don't know how to vote kick (PC). Press V, click on player name, Click "vote to kick".

Sorry had to rant. I calmed down now.... Move along

People go on bathroom breaks, take a smoke, whatever.  Usually they come back after a wave.  If he's really leeching, it's best to kick him on wave 5 anyways.

I never get anywhere near that amount of time for waiting, even with friends.  In pugs I bail very quickly if people do not ready up and I also leave lobbies a lot after games if I have to do any significant leveling or buying.

Idle players bug me something cronic, so yes, vote them out as otherwise you'll be left chasing an enemy back to the start of the map any way, or going nuts spamming 'get over here' on zone 5, if you want someone to carry you through a difficulty don't do it in a PUG game, I'll excuse any bad playing providing you at least try.

Wow, a lot of anti-smokers here.  I don't smoke, but I do recognize that for some, it's a necessity of their life - same as needing to go to the bathroom (i.e., it's not really an option).

true while a bathroom break could take 2 mins smoke break can take up to 10 mins. depending on what you do beside smoking. And I'm an EX-smoker but I make sure nobody has to wait for my addiction B).

be respectful of other people's time and workload. It's not fair to dink around buying chests, crafting stuff, taking long breaks, expecting other players to carry your sorry ass or just being afk. Maker forbid you put on a mic or message someone asking permission to do that stuff. Communication is really key here. A lot of groups are fine being patient or to work harder to compensate for your absence for legit reasons but if you are a silent random you are being selfish and leeching like a parasite. Kick those filthy parasites out. Touch pad then R1 on PS4, look for the red skull of FU. Also if you notice a leech it's helpful to notify the contributing players of what's going on and make a case to kick them. Start communicating.

No, smoking is not a necessity of life.  You can put it off until the mission is over.  Smoked for 15 years and speaking of first hand knowledge.

It's not a big deal....   Everyone who plays regularly generally ends up knowing each other after a little while.   I will create a lobby and after 3-5 matches, I may well want a tea/cigarette/both :)    No-one has ever complained when I pick my pad back up in Rd 3, it's no big deal...  We grind together and carry each other's weights, for this reason being AFK is not so big of a deal - this game has a small community of loyal and kind players, I've never found someone who regularly sits inactive unless it's my friend and I have told them that I'd happily cover them with an OP cleanup character like Archer/Reaver/Silent Sister for a couple of Rounds....

beg to differ friend    I am kind and tolerant       but if you just stop I give 1 level and will put all I got to keep said slacker alive       2 levels and I got the mic out advising you to get with it     3rd lvl your done or I am out     its rude to expect some you dont find important enough to speak to to pull your weight

I will log out before I allow people to pull me  its not fair to them

I never allowed people to "carry" me on a lvl out of my reach either

I make dragon calls while I sit and wait in a lobby  and thats how I end up waiting so long  I forget and get pulled in to the game

Yes, but it's not a necessity to do these things in the middle of a PUG lobby that is either in a match with you already or all waiting to start a match while you're AFK.

Count me in the "consider it rude" camp. Any time I need to leave for more than 30 seconds, I leave the lobby so I'm not holding anyone up or having players carry my dead weight for a zone. The only exception is when I'm playing with friends. I'll announce if I need to step away for a quick moment to refill my drink or use the facilities and ready up, and they are cool with starting the match and I catch up in Zone 1.

Literally the only time I have gone suddenly AFK in the middle of an online match was back in ME3MP when a sudden gushing sound of water alerted me to a busted pipe in the bathroom. That was a legitimate real life emergency situation and I entirely expected to be kicked by the time I finished addressing the issue. However, the group was kind and dragged my dead carcass around... probably only because we'd shared a few good matches prior to this, and when I came back on the mic I explained what had happened and apologized.

Or, you know...

Bioware could be smart and force you to tie your control sticks together with a rubber band, or be kicked for not moving.

The only problems is if that idle player is the only other player in the game.... Because  you only can vote kick when there are 3 people in the game.

This makes it far worse and can pretty much ruin an entire run if they don't come to the flag in zone 5...

I will randomly go afk if the door bell rings during pug matches and expect to be back to res the rest of the team within half a minute (although I think one game I ended up stuck and they had to kick me...)

as with others I generally find people will go afk for a minute or maybe even two and generally that's fine but a couple of times today I was in lobbies where the host and his chum were afk zones 1>4 (didn't even move) and thus neither could be kicked, they both got tea bagged on wave 5 for fun when they insta died on me, and then I finished off the round got back to the lobby and quit quick smart, normally I host my own games but the last week it seems like nobody ever joins me and to be honest its boring having to solo the whole time, I today I selected peri random and readied up the first lobby every time, some people are shocking and maybe its my age but if some douche readies up in the lobby instantly after finishing a game where they were  afk you know I think they should play as their level 1 stat toon and insta wipe in that shockingly low level gear that would barely survive a wraith hit on routine

I will carry an idle player through zones 1 and 2, but if they are not back by the time we make it to zone 3, I will put a vote on them.  If they are not kicked , then I will just leave.  I prefer not to use my free time to enable leeches.

There is not really any excuse for people to be idle for very long in a public game, other than the occasional instance when real life throws something at you.  Whenever real life makes an appearance, I make sure to leave the game unless I know it will take only a minute, or if we are on zone 5 (I am not giving up that XP).

I had a game a few weeks ago where I joined in on zone 5, and one of the other players was faded (the host), and the other two were struggling to survive.  We finished the game, get back to lobby, and the host immediately readies up.  After spending my points, I ready up and we start the game. The host is idle right off the bat.  OK, well, I'm sure they'll be back soon.  Zone 2, host is still idle, and the other two players are still struggling.  I sit next to the idle host and spam "Over here, friends!" for about 10 seconds before they started moving and attacking things.  I ran back ahead to help the other players, and as soon as I make it up to them, I look back and see that the host is idle again, getting beaten to death by the one enemy (a Zealot or a wolf or something) I left them to kill.

Nope.

I'm outta here.

Thats because they know that due to the game crashing every time during a host migration, people are less likely to kick the host.  So they ready up, play candy crush for a while as they occasionally look at the screen to see if they are at zone 5 yet.  See it all the time where the host does nothing until room 5 then suddenly they are there.  I block those kinds of people and with XBone it shows you with an automatic mute on them if someone on your block list is in your lobby.  I either vote them out as soon as I see them or most times just leave.

We need a blacklist mechanism that will prevent from people pugging into a lobby when said person is on one of the team member's list.  Either that, or a pop up that allows us to vote yay or nay on said person joining the group.

So you're saying that DAMP's intelligent programming is infinite?!

There's a first!
