Is this a bug? My party is surrounded in strange purple fog...

So I think my party is somehow gaining stacks of Elusive. I can't figure out if it's a bug or if it's some unknown feature of one of my abilities. When the effect (that I'm guessing is Elusive) is active on any of my party members, there is a purple haze/fog surrounding that character and a wierd lighting effect that looks like it's trying to simulate a flash of lightning or something.

It stacks (so far nothing over 3), and the stacks are consumed when the party member would normally take damage. Stangely, on tactical view there is no description of that status effect. Next to the orange diamond where it would normally list the name of the effect (such as unyielding or guardian spirit for example) it says nothing at all if there is only one stack, and only "(2)" or "(3)" if there are 2 or 3 stacks, respectively. Party members seem to gain the stacks during combat somehow, but I don't know exactly what triggers it.

 

It started happening when I switched my party from Cassandra/Cole/Solas to Sera/Blackwall/Iron Bull so maybe it has something to do with their abilities? I'm having a really hard time finding any info about this online... please help!!!

Does Sera have upgraded Toxic Cloud? New upgrade that came with Trespasser gives Elusive to your party members.

Oh my goodness you are a lifesaver! That's exactly what is is. Unfortunate that the skill descpription for it says "gain a stack of elusive while in the cloud making it harder for your enemies to find you"

 

That is like... not at all what elusive does. Also I feel like that upgrade makes the skill waaay op but whatever haha. Thanks

 

Another issue though is that the tactical view does not properly label the effect as elusive. I'm sure that bug will get patched tho... reeeeaaal soon.

This skill and a party built around it makes my nightmare ff all trials on playthrough easier than all my former playthroughs. It is exceptionally strong in fights that made my former playthroughs rough. Slow and hard hitting enemies like giants or mission bosses/dragons. But lets be honest it is very strong in all stages of the game. Aoe grappling chain, cooldown upgrade on barrier plus manasurge and poison cloud lets me breeze through this playthrough. I mean who minds reduced healing if you dont take any damage at all?

Edit: just soloed northern hunter on this run with my lvl 12 artificer dw rogue by just wailing on him for 15 minutes without any fancy dodging besides a little flanking strike positioning.

DAI already had some major balance issues and it seems like trespasser didn't make it much better

I've got one Trespasser run in progress that keeps kicking me out. My party is on the final island where your face the Qunari and activate the wolf statue to get the Arrowood bow reward, but I've not been able to progress. I'm getting repeatedly knocked back to the load screen only to return to the same point of the fight?

 

Could it be a bug, a glitch or as a remote possibility, I had just crafted a bow for my Qunari Inquisitor and the thing is a level 28 lyrium bow [from The Descent] that I named The Kiss of Death. Every time that I fire off Long Shot - "bam" - I'm knocked back to the main screen??

 

Weird, right!

Are you using the trespasser upgrade for long shot or the orignal one from the main game? Maybe we should add long shot to the growing list of bugged abilities...
