I'm usually a mage - and I'm not sick of playing mages.
I've half played a DD rogue and love the class - but not keen on my character a whole lot so replaying with new romance, choices etc.
I've also completed an archer rogue as well.

So now I'm torn between a 2h wari or a dual dagger rogue...*sigh* play on hard.

Help me choose please! I know dd rogues are super fun, but lack survivability. are 2h waris fun or not really?

Be a Knight Enchanter and use the Blade of Tidarion. Problem solved.

NoOoOoOoOOoO I've been a knight enchanter twice and it's become boring with the nerfs.

I haven't played a 2-hander yet, but you can make a very survivable DD Rogue, especially if you're a tempest. Choose the right defensive skills like Flask of Frost, maybe Parry, the new Toxic Cloud upgrade that gives you Elusive stacks etc. You could also craft Guard-on-hit masterworks and use the new accessory that generates Barrier-on-hit for non-mages, and craft really heavy warrior armour using silverite to negate the class-restriction.

It would be pretty survivable indeed. And another awesome thing about DD Rogues is that you can have 3 masterworks. Just make sure they're all different since they don't stack. Just some thoughts.

Amen. DW Tempest or DW Artificer for the win.

I'm currently finishing up a Dwarven 2H Champion.  Survivability, CC, and damage dealing all in one.  I went for a crit focused build to drastically reduce my cooldowns with Pommel Strike and Whirlwind the key actives in the 2H tree.

I crafted an Axe of the Dragon and equipped it with the 5 hit hidden blades.  For most of the game, I used Enemy Explodes for 75% weapon damage on Kill.  This is probably what made it the most fun.

If you haven't tried an Artificer yet, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. Provided you raise your crit chance to a reasonable level --which is pretty easy even by the time you reach Skyhold -- you'll have essentially unlimited stamina (from Looked Like it Hurt) and near-instantaneous cooldowns (from Opportunity Knocks), which provides for a ton of flexibility in your build. Great for either DD or archer. I didn't try it until I'd already been playing the game for some time because I didn't realize just how powerful the passives truly are.

Yeah, I'm playing 2H Qunari Champ right now. It's fun. But a DW Artificer would be fun too. Hook & Tackle around and stab or mine everybody.

I'm currently playing a 2H Templar! If you actually RP your character, it can be very fun, but it is also kinda tedious until you get your spec...

I go on rampages with Whirlwind Though and with my +5 guard on hit attached with increasing damage after each rotation... well I'm invincible and devestating.

I've played since long a 2H reaver. And sure, it's your typical warrior high-risk high-rewards archetype, but I find it to be really intense at times!

I'm currently still think ing what I should play next as well. A reaver again, or a rogue.

I have yet to try a Rift Mage, so that's what my next will be after I complete this one! (gotta get all the schems I can get)

I advise to forget about the class, and develop the character and personality you wish to play, then select the abilities that best fit that idea.

I've gone from a nightmare artificer archer yo-yo build to a Necromancer Mage and I'm bored as hell and missing my Artificer so so much! The most fun is the dlcs because there are so many more enemies.. All those purdy elemental mines going off whilst poison weapons and healing you constantly whilst you leaping shot back into stealth, hook and tackle, then shadow strike then throw more MINES... And that's just in 10 seconds of gameplay Seriously the most fun I've ever had in a Dragon Age game from the gameplay perspective..

This Mage run I'm doing now is boring me to death... Just doing it so I have a Mage playthrough on record for DA4. #preparationiskey

Just the opposite for me. My Archer was fun for RP, but it came down to four Archery options and Mines. Evasion was a lot of fun, as it was also available outside of combat, and was useful for exploration and recon. But the Mages have multiple ways to lead and fight, and I have used a KE and am now using a Rift Mage; both very versatile ways of gameplay (Respec amulets recommended).

I've made dual dagger - but unsure of the subclass. Some people suggested Artificer on a dual dagger rogue? Sounds weird!

OK now tested tier 3 schematics on my stealth necromancer and I get 11K crits with walking bomb (the implosion) and 20k+ with fire mine. I am sure I can get 30k on firemine eventually with a superb inferno belt and chaotic focus. I wonder how far I can push it lol. There is only tier 4 schematics and mats to improve now but I'll save those for trespasser endgame.

It is weird, but weird is fun!

You can always go Tempest, it's kind of a no-brainer to play. I'm getting absolutely sick damage with 50%/145% crit and Flask of Lightning and HBx5 and HBx4 masterworks, AoE daggers.

We all have different playstyles... For me I hate having to light attack and wait for cooldowns... I love agility and massive damage and Maneuverability. No class in the game kills dragons faster than what an artificer can. Perhaps I just hate wielding a staff too... Only move I am really enjoying from the Mage trees is frost step. Maybe a little weak but it's super fun smashing through enemies with it. Pull of the abyss is my fav rift spell walking bomb for necros...both can be masterworks..

Dual dagger artificer shall be my next playthrough. With guard on hit.. Walking bomb and pull of abyss on each dagger with deep stalker sigil for 200% flank damage... It's going to be riddick haha
