Does anyone know what the painting that Solas made of the bear and the elven goddess Ghinan'ain (I'm presuming) symbolizes?

Solas may not have painted that since that can be found in other areas I think it can be also be found somewhere in the hinderlands

As for what it represented? People think that it represent Ghilan'nain conspiring with Dirthamen (who's symbol is a bear). Other's believe them to be lovers.

There's a ancient elvhen codex about Ghilan'nain urging one of Dirthamen's follower to take the "shape of reserved for the Divine and their chosen"

I don't know about Solas painting those.  But if they're elven, the bear may symbolize Dirthamen; the bear is his favored animal.

(No way to say if there's any relation, but there's a codex that references Ghilan'nain urging one of Dirthamen's slaves to take a form reserved for the gods.)

Yeah, I'm really hoping that she coerced someone into bear form in order to experiment on them and not for sexytimes.  :(

Mythal: Gonna pass on this one.  *throws case to Elgar'nan*

Elgar'nan: WHY.  LET ME GO KILL THINGS IN PEACE.  YOU'LL REGRET THIS SOMEDAY! *RAEG*

--

Solas: And now you know why I hate bears.

Lavellan: I thought it was because of that time four of them chased you around Hafter's Woods for an hour.

Solas: That's the other reason.

Cassandras room? In the forge?

I don't remember where exactly, but in the place where you found the book for the Templar specialization. I remember finding it wasn't as trivial as the other books

Hm. The only painted places I know of (aside from Solas' place) is the stables and the bedroom of the inquisitor.

If it's the codex from the Temple of Mythal it's about an elf shapeshifting into a dragon, which is a form reserved for the gods. The accused says Ghilanain set them up, but Mythal doesn't care and lets Elgarnan deal with them.

Yes, you are right. The mural is there on the wall near her bed.

Go to the top floor of the armory. There's a little bedroll in the corner (it's presumed to be Cassandra's because all her personal conversations take place there), with a painting on the wall.

Since these decals show up in lots of places, I don't think they're intended to have been painted by anyone we know in the game.

Did it actually say dragon form?  I don't remember.

No, it doesn't say, but whatever this form was, it could fly.

"His crime is high treason. He took on a form reserved for the gods and their chosen, and dared to fly in the shape of the divine. The sinner belongs to Dirthamen; he claims he took wings at the urging of Ghilan'nain, and begs protection from Mythal. She does not show him favor, and will let Elgar'nan judge him."  wiki

There's something interesting in Trespasser, and possibly elsewhere, but this is the first time I've seen it myself.

its not solas, just one of many frescoes we see dotted around the game. The only ones that Solas painted are the ones in the Rotunda.

Their are elven ones, Ones related to Tevinter, Orlais and Ferelden

The bear painting you mentioned and the other Ferelden art

Here is the painting in the Inquisitors Bedroom which is also Ferelden
