I'm new in this forum, so first and foremost hello everyone i know i'm kinda late to the inquisition party and all but oh well.
Second and most important, i want to play a dw rogue in my next playthrough, thing is i really don't know where to begin with, i'm interested in the tempest spec the most since i already have an artificer archer and to be honest assassin does not appeal to me that much. I've been playing with a dw Sera for some time now and while i enjoy it greatly i still think my dps is really low for a rogue.
I really would like to know your opinions on which skills and what gear should i use, so... Anyone?
P.S. I'm sorry if my english is broken, it's not my native lenguage U_U .
Help me with a rogue build?...

I loved playing DW Tempest, it was a lot of fun -- though not as fun as Archer Tempest IMO.
Here is my DW Tempest build -- though it was a long time ago and Patch 10/DLC would necessitate some changes.
Pre-Skyhold:
1) Stealth
2) Lost in the Shadows
3) Flank Attack
4) Skirmisher
5) Twin Fangs
6) Evasion
7) Evade
8) Shadow Strike
9) Quick Blade
(Alternatively, starting with skill point #6, go for DW passives Bloodied Prey and Sneak Attack for higher damage.)
Post-Skyhold, with Tempest specialization available, after doing a respec with a Tactician amulet
EDITED for order:
1) Stealth
2) Lost in the Shadows
3) Flank Attack
4) Skirmisher
5) Flask of Fire
6) Unquenchable Flames
7) Twin Fangs
8) Fury of the Storm
9) Thousand Cuts
10) Killer's Alchemy
11) Flask of Lightning
12) Quicksilver
13) Evasion
14) Evade (but don't have this on active slots)
15) Shadow Strike
Actives: Stealth, Flank Attack, Twin Fangs, Shadow Strike, Flask of Fire, Flask of Lightning, Thousand Cuts, X
X was either Evade or Mark of the RIft, depending on what the quest was. Later I used Flask of Frost there.
Then either build down the left side of Tempest, or, take some of the Passives from DW, like Bloodied Prey or Sneak Attack. Arguably those passives should be taken sooner, like right after Skirmisher, but I was more interested in having a variety of attack skills than maxing out damage.
There's something to be said for putting fewer points in Subterfuge and going for Sabotage instead, Poison Weapons to Hook & Tackle, but I only played around with that build for a couple of side quests then went back to Shadow Strike.
For gear, before Skyhold I'd take heal on X upgrades wherever I could. Gain guard is good too. Hidden Blades is good too. I preferred AoE daggers to direct daggers. Cooldown amulets are very useful -- the best usually go to my rogues.
Above all, craft Dex and crit chance into gear. You'll be the powerhouse of the team by level 16 if you get to 50% crit chance and 150%+ crit damage. But you already know that, you've played and Archer.

Thanks! I'm definitely trying your build PapaCharlie9, i found easier to stack critical chance and damage with a bow though but i'll manage. I wonder if the masterwork dual curved blade with a dense dual grip are a good option.

The new poison weapons heal upgrade for DW tempest (and artificer) is insane. You should not have trouble staying alive with that and guard on hit. If that is overkill for survivability get hidden blades and chain lightning proc masterworks instead. Also if you use dual blade dagger use only one as I think you only need one in off hand to have both daggers aoe and normal daggers deal more damage. Chain lightning process masterwork in hit is a great underrated masterwork which staggers foes and allows you to do better damage to shield dudes who have annoying abilities should you turn walking softly on at some point.

Dont need guard on hit, a warrior with horn of valor+fortifying blast is better, A lot better.

Blackwall's FB and my Inquisitor's Leeching Poison will help to keep me alive while leaving one masterwork slot free, thanks for the heads up everyone.

Just a quick addendum: if you have fewer than 12 skill points at the time of the Tempest respec, you need to shuffle this order around. It's imperative to have upgraded Stealth and upgraded Flank Attack. Really, I should have written the order like this:Post-Skyhold, with Tempest specialization available, after doing a respec with a Tactician amulet
1) Flask of Fire
2) Unquenchable Flames
3) Fury of the Storm
4) Thousand Cuts
5) Killer's Alchemy
6) Flask of Lightning
7) Quicksilver
8) Stealth
9) Lost in the Shadows
10) Flank Attack
11) Skirmisher
12) Twin Fangs
13) Evasion
14) Evade (but don't have this on active slots)
15) Shadow Strike
1) Stealth
2) Lost in the Shadows
3) Flank Attack
4) Skirmisher
5) Flask of Fire
6) Unquenchable Flames
7) Twin Fangs
8) Fury of the Storm
9) Thousand Cuts
10) Killer's Alchemy
11) Flask of Lightning
12) Quicksilver
13) Evasion
14) Evade (but don't have this on active slots)
15) Shadow Strike
Also, Bigdawg13 came up with the idea of using Flank Attack on no target to enter stealth before a battle, allowing you to recover an active skill slot if you need it. You should still spend the 2 skill points on Stealth + upgrade, just don't put it in an active slot.

For any DW rogue, I think a key is to flank. But as a Tempest, just keep up with the flasks, and use some escape abilities, and you will be fine.

Alrighty then, i think i'll keep evade active with the new upgrade just for the sake of movility and for closing the gap with some enemies while flank attack is on cooldown and switch to thousand cuts when i'm fighting dragons or bosses since i don't really use it that often. In any case, are the stone stalker daggers the best in terms of dps for this kind of build or can i find better ones?.
