Trespasser abilities are seriously bugged... Not just effortless lunge

The "lost in the mist" upgrade for toxic cloud is also bugged... Makes footsteps/jumping noises permanently very quiet, regardless of whether the character gets any stacks of elusive. May seem like a minor issue but for me it totally destroys any chance of immersion.

Has anyone noticed any other issues with the new abilities in trespasser? It seems like there's a pretty low level of QA for this DLC... I'm playing on XB1 fwiw.

Line in the Sand's new upgrade also seems to be bugged. I had Blackwall in my party and any time he triggered the ability he would be unable to move.  He could jump and attack the air but couldn't step forward. He would usually stay stuck after combat - sometimes you could move him by manually selecting him but he wouldn't move on his own. Also, the decoys would remain in position and the whole party would remain in combat mode with their weapons drawn. In a few cases, you could not save, edit the Character Record, access the Inventory or fast travel. Disengaging using the radial wheel allowed you to save but fast travelling was still impossible. Only a reload was able to fix the issue.

I love the new upgrades but they definitely need more bug polishing.

Maybe we should start making a list of new abilities that AREN'T bugged... it might be shorter.

So far we have: Toxic Cloud (lost in the mist), Lunge n Slash (effortless slash), and Line in the Sand (Everlasting Barricade)

Do you think the problem with Everlasting Barricade has something to do with the AI not cancelling it properly? Does the ability work properly when you take control of Blackwall first and THEN activate the ability when playing as him?

I should be clear: I LOVE how much was put into this update, all the new abilities are great in principle. I really appreciate how much they mix up character creation. If they ruin my save though, it's kind of a moot point.

Fire Mine, (all versions) does 1 damage sometimes when used at close range. Did not happen previous to toggles.

The fire mine upgrade doesn't layout multiple mines, despite stating otherwise.

They sure have a lot of things to include for the fix-trespasser-bugs patch - trespasser seems to have been released too early, as it clearly wasn't tested enough.

The bug I've been plagued by throughout my current playthrough, that was introduced in some previous patch (as I did not have this trouble the first time I played the game), is characters freezing in place in combat. Sometimes happens to enemies too.

A companion will just stop all action, and stand there. Switching to the character, you can't even manually move them - they are stuck. You can activate skills, and activating them may break the character out of the freeze.

This happens frequently. I'd say maybe every third battle on average. I'd really like to see this bug fixed. It is very annoying.

I agree, this one is very annoying. I've found, however, if you make the character jump that usually fixes it.

I get this too!

As BevH said, jumping breaks you out.

Yup. The freezing up in combat, is the single most irritating bug I've ever encountered in a game.

I'd guess that it's to do with the fact that it has to be manually cancelled. If the AI never cancels it then it just leaves you stuck in combat mode, unable to save or fast travel. But I'm not a programmer so this is just speculation. I never actually tried activating/deactivating the ability manually. I should mention that it was easily fixed by toggling the upgrade.

Yes, I'm having a blast with the new upgrades and trials. The only thing you really need to worry about is saving every so often - if you alternate two saves you'll be fine (fortunately I'm the type of person who likes to have loads of saves anyway). Even then it shouldn't be too much of an issue since the autosave feature in this game is very well done, but if you only have one save file you might run into trouble as there will almost certainly be situations where you need to reload if you use certain upgrades or have trials turned on. I just ran through What Pride Had Wrought with Walk Softly on and a couple of the enemies near the end had invincible barriers, so that needed a reload. But overall the updates are more than worth the occasional bit of mild frustration. The combat is better than ever now.

I didn't have a problem with Fire or Ice Mine.
