For those who don't know what I'm talking about...

This is Duchell's Shepard, I know I'm light years slow.

But I have a question.. given that ME3 came out in 2012-2013, has someone developed mods for PS3 that this can be used too?

I kinda like this Shep and would love to see if anyone managed to achieve this look just using codes and not mods, if the PS3 permits.

Holy hell, that's one good-looking manShep.

Anyway, I can tell this Shepard is using Kaidan's face textures, so if you play on console, you probably won't be able to achieve exactly this look because consoles aren't mod friendly, as far as I know. :( I've never heard of any tool that could do that for PS3. (Somebody correct me?) However, with smartly chosen features (strong jaw, thicker eyebrows, prominent cheekbones, and all), you hopefully might be able to get somewhat close.

Hey, I found the facecode for this handsome devil:

121.R8H.LBW.63F.L6P.W4W.PEH.37Q.1S5.AA3.857.6

Maybe you've seen it already, but making sure anyway.

I wasn't able to download the files from the site though, so I can't tell you what's exactly necessary to achieve this look. However, in my experience the package will most likely contain those textures (and perhaps the head model "at worst") which, as I said, can probably only be used on a PC. (And since it appears that the files are no longer available, it seems we're out of luck anyway.) But hopefully the facecode alone will bring some nice results, as well.

Yeah the look is different. Hm, is my assumption correct that I need some external site to upload images here?

Yup. This site only allows linked images, as far as I know.

So the facecode is no good? I mean, it wouldn't surprise me. The face structure might even be there, but textures do a LOT. It bothers me so much that they gave photorealistic textures to Miranda, Jacob, and co. and custom Sheps can look... uh... kind of out of place.

It´s ok IMO but it´s not the face we see there. I am surprised that you didn´t fire up the game yourself and tried it out.

Well, I'm not planning to use it. But, yeah, I should've tried it at least as an experiment. The thing is though, I also have some high res textures installed so it may look different from the vanilla game. Not as dramatically different as with the Kaidan textures, though.

Not bad. I might just make a few small tweaks here and there if I were to play with this character.

I am not going through the ME2's intro for this, though!  :D

EDIT: It just occurred to me that if anybody did install the mod, it would result in Shepard and many NPCs looking very similar because custom Shepard shares face and hair textures with all the other human NPCs, minus the ones with their own models and textures like Joker, Kaidan, James, Jacob. Using textures this unique could result in a lot of imperfect clones and imposters. The only workaround would be to replace Sheploo's head model and textures instead, but that's more complicated.

I might sound even more light years behind but who is Duchell?

I don't know, either. Never heard of him/her before this thread. All I found out during my small search was that it's a registered user of facesofgaming.com and the owner of the manShep in the OP.

Ohhh, thanks for keeping the thread alive @Vanilka,

I have found the face codes before posting the thread but as you've said, mods are not allowed on PS3. My friend was explaining to me how the Graphic Cards in PS3/PS4 are not significant enough to enable mods so unfortunately, we won't be seeing this face on PS3.

Actually shortly after posting the thread, I made my Shepard differently, for starters, I changed the hairstyle and iris color. Then I made the lips smaller and also gave my Shepard a more defined jaw and less depth for the chin. I guess my Shepard was more of a Eurasian ethnicity, he looks good (imo) in cutscenes and from angular views but that's about it for me I guess.

I'm not good with facial features and all so I can't tell if my Shepard is handsome :x.

As for the .rar file that Duchell put up long ago, it has unfortunately expired. If you're replaying Mass Effect again like I am, I suggest you contact her personally and ask for the codes again. Duchell is happy when someone gives her credit for the Shepard face that she created.

That's a shame, about the mods. I thought so, though. Never heard of it being actually possible aside for some very limited modding for Xbox and that's mostly connected with modding saves anyway. Maybe in the future.

Glad you've managed to make something you're happy with. I wouldn't worry about whether he's handsome if you like what you've made. I mean, my Shepard started off with shaved head, big scar across her face and crazy eyes and she rocks it.  :P  As far as I am concerned, it's never going to be perfect. You can even mod your Shepard to hell and there's always going to be that one angle and lighting that will drive you mad if you care about these things. (That's applies double to ME2.) But as long as you look at him/her and think "my Shepard", it's all right, I think.

Either way, have fun!
