Don't get me wrong, I love the MGS series in all this, but you can not take a Metal Gear story seriously. At all. That alone clashes with the world of Mass Effect.

Hmmm? It's not like I stay here everyday like some zealous members.

I included directing in the title. I think Kojima is a good writer but his overarching metaplot sadly requires mental gymnastics to comprehend. Sometimes though mental gymnastics can be fun in MGS case.

That's a fun way of saying "His writing is dildos and makes no sense unless you stop trying to make it make sense."

This is some real high-brow art right here. Clearly an artist expressing his deepest emotions in the way a business like BioWare wouldn't understand. All BioWare understands is fanservice, and appealing to the lowest common denominator.

That is potentially the worst thing I have ever watched, and I blame you for the train wreck I just witnessed.  I'd like to say maybe it makes sense in context, but WTF context could make that even tolerable.

Kojima is one of the better things to come out of Japan so I respect him and what he has accomplished. It's sad that he couldn't properly finish MGSV. I think it was because of the crappy open world trend that a lot of games are adopting now. DAI did and it failed on that aspect, MEA I hope doesn't fail, Witcher 3 did a great job surprisingly and is probably one of the only examples of it working on traditional non-open world franchises and MGSV was alright but it would have saved a lot of time and resources to develope a better storyline if he just made it like the previous MGS games.

I just want of BW to make ME:A this time for PC!

I don't want DA:I case in where supposedly it was meant for PC but in end it ended up being game that was first poorly ported from consoles to PC (~coughs~ KOEI style ~coughs)!

In another words I don't give a damn who is going to write ME:A as long as that person does actually knows how to make PC game and not poorly ported console version that got half of game content cut(please BW leave that job of poorly ported PC games from consoles to KOEI to do)! So I don't give a damn if Kojima will write it and make every female character to wear stripper clothing or no, I want damn real PC game that is meant for PC!

If Kojima wrote and directed ME:A the entire game would be as nonsensical as the ME3 ending and every female character would look like Miranda in a thong.

C'mon, hyperbole? Did Quiet's inclusion in the series somehow retroactively negate the existance of Mei Ling, Naomi, Rosemary, Sniper Wolf, Meryl, Natasha, Paz, Strangelove, Eva, Olga and The Boss?

Seriously, MGS is a dumb franchise. They're not well written games, they're just fun games that are weighed down by stupid stories and horrendous characters/dialog.

I don't disagree with the series being convoluted , while the horrendous characters is debateable, but the english translation of the dialogue in the latest games are awkward due to them being too literal, and formal.

In response to the op, if this was Kojima from way back in 1995 through 2003? Sure, but currently as he is now he's just too preachy, and trolls too much.

Well ME3 had Kai Lame and other things so they wasn't too far away :P

Rising wasn't directed or written by Kojima or his staff, to be fair.

It doesn't make any sense. That character, Quiet, is designed around a sexually repressed Japanese man's fantasies. She can't speak, so no pesky lady-opinions or nagging. She has to be 95% naked, so to asspull a reason for why... she's a plant person that absorbs sunlight, oxygen and water through her skin.

It's all completely stupid. Defending Kojima's writing is like defending Caddy Shack 2. It's impossible, so just don't even try lest you reveal yourself to be a total moron.

It still takes the Metal Gear franchise's silliness and Rules of NAAA-TUUUURE!  Cool.

Then cranks it up to fifty.

He toyed with our expectations for 28 years and every game after another got better and better.

You can say all you want about his writing skills, but the man really knows how to make an entertaining game.

Indeed.

I wasn't a fan of Rising, but objectively, as a character action game, it's solid.

When did I defend Gaider's writing? I mean, I will say it's magnitudes better than Kojima's based purely on the grounds that it's coherent and cogent, but where did I defend it before?

Good writing and popular don't go hand in hand, heck even with my enjoyment.  I freaking love Armageddon, Bad Boys and other Michael Bay movies.   Armageddon can literally bring tears to my eyes.  But I can recognize Bays work for what it is. I say Commando is the greatest movie of all time, I have the VHS, DVD and blue ray of it. There are a lot of crappy things that I love.  I love fast food, like I'll take it over most restaurants but I recognize its crap food. My favorite joke is What did the man say when he walked into a Bar? ... Ouch. Does that make it a great joke, no its a grade school joke that I still find amusing.  On the opposite side, things that are recognized as fantastic writing I may hate.

As long as we're making fun of the rain scene, I should point out that there's a shower scene easter egg that makes the shower scene in ME3 look good by comparison.

I object the notion of Quiet not being an innovative characters....to find a woman capable of being silent for so long it's clearly uncommon.

Also it's normal people are against him in my country we used to say it takes a pure-blood horse for the dust to rise from the ground. Meaning average people aren't controversial nor hated. If nobody criticize you then you stood for nothing.
