What if Kojima wrote and directed MEA?

Touche.

I find that the romances never seem to progress naturally or they don't seem organic or majorly different from the others. The structure is almost always the same.

Meet Potential LI/Get along with some exchanges/Potential LI sits on a problem they can't solve themselves/Help with issue/Sex/LI splits.

I find DA to be worse based on not having a consistent PC so every romance is a brand new one that must be established through head canon or second hand knowledge.  Although I loved DA 2's Rivalry system. It was at least an attempt at offering something new.

Meanwhile the relationship and confrontation between Boss and Snake carried so much depth and I'm still not entirely sure if they were romantically involved. The Boss was her own woman, a mentor, and was an important figure in the game that didn't sit around waiting for the PC to tell her what to do.

But in the defense of the ME women, I will say that the most awkward romance I consider reward based was Cortez. Helping him get over his dead husband then romancing him is a tad bit iffy. And the way it was done....Talk about space ships, give him a pat on the shoulder at the memorial wall, then tell him he should start checking you out.

I do think there is differences. Some romances start as more casual sex (Zevran, Iron Bull, Isabela and Garrus) and actual romance comes later, some start with LI having crush on you (Liara, Anders, Kaidan (at least if not romanced in ME1)), some end up with LI leaving you for their own agenda and so on. And the LI characters are so different as well that they bring differences in actual romances and what they feel like.. are they more in sweet and romantic or sexy and steamy side and so on.

I find DA better, cause it gives you more choice within the romance when in ME you just have to always push the romance button in order to romance someone, only choice for you is to break up or romance (well at least there is couple moments where you can chose to push paragon button or not). I agree that DA2's rivalry system was good add and something new though.

You think that's bad? I accidentally romanced Jack and got REALLY confused when she went into my room crying then tried taking my pants off. . .

. . .King of the Boy Scouts, indeed. . .felt so unclean during the Suicide Mission that I had to bathe in the blood of the Reaper Baby just to feel better. :crying:

The Paragon Jack 'mance is so cringeworthy. It makes me think of this song.

Thankfully, we're given a casual bang option for us to take instead of trying to "save" some severely damaged goods.

I always thought Kojima made the story nonsensical on purpose :P

Yeah, this, kinda.

I mean, I haven't played a lot of MGS games, and the action and cinema was always great, but the story always has so much wtf moments I really thought it was meant not to be taken seriously.

By all means take on kojima as a consultant on cinema (bioware could definately use this...) But for the love of god don't let him write.

But no, I don't think Kojima should work on Mass Effect.

Kojima wanted the sniper fight with The End in MGS3 to actually last at last a week. They talked him out of it, but in MGS4 some cutscenes actually lasted a week, I think.

I loved Metal Gear Solid, and "hype" along release of latest game is making me feel nostalgic, but I've been done with this series for years. It quit being fun to me when it... quit being fun. I wanted it to continue as a smart comedy with eerie moments and pacifistic attitude. Instead it tried to handle heavy themes seriously within still utterly silly story. About MGS5 I don't know details, probably won't.

Earlier MGS titles tried new things and inspired others to do the same. They featured some of the most entertaining battles, made possible to fight without killing enemies, included bisexual options and made guys as big with fanservice (+female characters had armpit hair), and villains were inventive (in half cartoony, half human way). Metal Gears used to sell game consoles, and attracted many new players who weren't previously interested in genre. I don't know how much of everything was actually invented and developed by Kojima himself since there's lots of team work in big games. And how much has Konami interfered. So what do you think is the lesson here. Fame can confuse your head? All things must pass? Something about quit being or turning into niche?

At least I've heard people have been really really happy about the dog in the game.

(Then there's the horse that poops, but there has always been ill toilet humor in MGS, usually as easter egg content. ...Maybe I don't feel as nostalgic anymore after all.)

This is just a taste of what would happen if Mass Effect had Kojima on-staff.

That art is definetly better than things like riding the bull or all of the sjw pandering that Bioware has recently taken up.

But as long as it panders to you, it's good right? Let me use you "logic" and say that MGS is a pure straight male fanservice, MRA pandering. If this sounds stupid to you, imagine how stupid this post of yours sound too.

Dutch, pls.

When I sat down and thought about it, I realized that "this girl is naked because she is a plant and breathes through her skin and the reason she seductively rolls around in a puddle of rainwater while taking her pants off is because she needs to drink" was still not as stupid, disappointing and brain-breaking as the Star Kid.

In this case the excuse is stupier than the actual outfit so maybe it'd have been better without ^^;

Personally, I've a hell of a lot more respect for people who just come striaght out and admit fanservice is fanservice than those that try to come up with BS to "justify" it.

Exactly my thoughts when it comes to the yuri/yaoi segment of this fanbase that tries to use left wing identity politics to justify their sexual wish fulfillment in ME/DA.

She's quite a jiggly plant, too. A flowerpot could not contain her. I mean IT.

PS: She should be green.

Of course, it also holds toward right-wing bigots who portray everything remotely different from what they want as "justifying sexual wish fulfilment" or similar instead of having the decency to just admit they're right-wing bigots.... ;)

Don't you get tired of trolling this forum? Have you nothing better to do with your time?

So because he has a strong opinion about a particular matter and has opinions that differs from yours makes him a troll?

Great cinematography, great dialogue, well written themes, great focus on gameplay...some of the few things Kojima San would have given this franchise, but he needs about 5 plus years to actually complete the game and without publisher meddling.

Well I think we would get creative boss fights and a director who is not afraid of beeing too video-gamey. Sounds fun to me.

Call it what you want but an opinion is an opinion. Some are controversial and some or not, some are strong but some are not. In the end, just because those opinions and beliefs does not align with yours, makes someone a troll.

Ok so what, he believes that DAI was a game made for SJWs great! That is his opinion! But because he believes that does not make him a troll.

Again, people use the term, "Troll" too liberally.

At the end of the day, the OP does bring up a good topic regarding the "what ifs" about the writer of MEA. It is a good topic that I am sure has many different opinions and perspectives. The OP's logic is that Kojima is not a SJW and that if he made a Bioware game, it would be good because it doesn't pander. Now no matter how nonsensical that may sound, that is the basis of his opinion. You may strongly disagree which is fine, but that does not make him a troll.

This is some real high-brow art right here. Clearly an artist expressing his deepest emotions in the way a business like BioWare wouldn't understand. All BioWare understands is fanservice, and appealing to the lowest common denominator.

What. The. Hell. Did I just watch?

Seriously.

Did someone actually conceive of that sequence and think, "yea, this all totally makes sense," to themselves?
