So we couldn't have a Silent Sister dual wielding one handed weapons, and we couldn't get spears in Single or Multiplayer but the Qunari get both?

Seriously, that's a low blow on all accounts right there.

Maybe the secret weapon is a spear?
My name is [insert name here], and I 100% approve this message.

The spear of destiny?
Can't give it away...At last we know who you are, Mr. Insert Name Here.
Hopefully the next patch changes Silent Sister to full Warrior with two one handers, and we'll see either a S+S or a spear wielding Elven Grey Warden ![]()
The shenanigans is that most units have immunities rather than damage reduction and some key classes have immunities to more than one core abilities for some classes. Low to mid level necromancer with fear and cold? Thanks for coming just go stand over in the corner so the assassin won't gut you.

Don't remind me. I was playing with my Lvl 16 (later Lvl 18) Necro yesterday cause I wanted to promote her. Went to Perilous cause normally I'm doing great with her there.
Have her mostly specced as Ice mage at the moment, cause I got Heart of Despair & Belt of the Winterpact, so her spells are Winter's Grasp, Fade Step, Ice Mine and Horror. (I did not equip the Winterpact Belt for peri, 128 HP are defintely not enough, so I switched to my Superb Belt of Spirit Resistance)
We ran into Qunari.
I went down twice in Zone 1 FC and the third time in Zone 2
Funnily I didn't go down in Zone 3, but only by hiding, Fade Stepping away from every Saarebas and attacking from afar. Went down in Zone 4 again and had to watch most of the fighting in the Fade.
Luckily someone had called the Dragon and we did not have to fight Saarath, otherwise I wouldn't have survived Zone 5 either.
I love playing Ice Mage (not only as Necro, but also as Ele) but the Qunari make it really hard to survive, at least you can freeze most of them. ![]()
You forgot the spirit resistance, basically you might as well exit the game if your sidony vs qunari, or vote to kick whoever picked her. =)
So that is why my staff attacks were like shooting peas at them, I was wondering.
I'm pretty sure they meant qun on nm. Considering on nm the resistance hits for 1 damage and you didn't use walking bomb so where's your spirit damage? Just curious.
My Spirit Damage is in the Horror upgrade
Despair: Horror inflicts even deeper terror unto targets and reduces their armor while they are under its effects.
Spirit Damage: 50% weapon damage per second
Armor Reduction: 20%
Walking Bomb is great and all, but if the people who you're playing with, kill the enemies faster than you can hit the detonate key, then it's better to just panic them and do some CC.

Not to mention that walking bomb is at the very end of an ability tree. It forces you to rush to that ability and forces you to play in a certain way.
What's with bioware's obsession with lightning pew pew attacks? It's pretty much the only consistent lemental attack across all factions and utterly destroys darkspawn and qunari. Some enemies are immune to it, but the majority aren't which makes me scratch my head.
Yep. Out of the primary 5 factions I believe the only ones with lightning resistance are Horrors, Pride demons, Electricity buffed wraiths, and Lightning type Venatori mages. Not too shabby, considering its basically 1 or 2 enemies per faction, with two factions having no resistance at all.
Lightnings basically the most "universal" elemental damage type after spirit.
One thing you can be sure of, the type of elemental bonus I have put on a weapon will match the dragon type of the pug I drop into.

Exactly. I rather upgrade Horror (which I always keep, because I love it) than go all the way down just to get Walking Bomb
This time I only went for the spells in the Permafrost Tree (except for Horror) and used my other skill points for the passives in both trees and it's actually really great. Not against Qunari, or Darkspawn, but against RTs and Vints.
At the moment I'm experimenting with my builds in general, made Rion a half fire/half ice mage (normally I balance him out with some other spells) and went with skills I've rarely used before on Argent. I think I'll go this way with Sidony again. I really like this build. May not be effective against Qunari, but who cares. ![]()
Forget weapon types, the Qunari Commander size/model could be a Darkspawn Ogre! Me wants some Ogres to fight.
Agreed. I was expecting Ogres in the Darkspawn faction.
