Do you enjoy the current system?

I personally think if it took longer to get to level 20 but gave you 5 - 10 cunning/willpower or constitution depending on the class you promote, it would be a much better game.

I actually enjoy spending time with my character once they are getting to the perfect level... However, nowadays you tend to spend more time allocating points in the skills trees than getting a good run with them from lvl 15+.

Not only that, it is tedious constantly having to do it.

Why not increase the exp needed to level and up the potency of the promotion stats?

It's not the like Inquisitor would be overly happy that his agents are getting amnesia every 2 hours and having to spend money to retrain them.

I think you are a sadist.

I would like the option to continue to play at lvl20 and earn 10% of the exp generated that will be added to your level when you later choose to promote. Then I once in a while would be able to play a few games with all skills and passives for a lvl 20. Currently It feels like they could remove the point from lvl 20 and force promote my character when reaching 20 since I never use it.

Having to play a game at level 1 is the worst thing about it. Promotions affecting attributes wasn't a bad idea, but I also wouldn't call it a good idea. That, and people are good at finding exploits, which tips the balance with stuff like this.

Maybe attaching board-wide perk rewards to challenges would have been a better way of doing it? For example, +3 cunning per rank of Hunter extractions plus 10% attack speed at rank 5, +3 dexterity per rank of Assassin extractions plus 10% movement speed at rank 5. Just a thought.

You do realize you'll have to spend more time as a low lvl according to this logic.

And resetting would be extra painful.

But I agree that lvl 1 sucks

The System was basically a nice Idea but it sucks :D A few more promotions and I will stop anyway. Sick of promoting will enjoy high level not only for 2 or 3 matches and I am not interested in becoming a promotionlord ;)

I´m pretty sure they won´t change anything about that but I understand your feelings :)

It would mean more time as a level one as well, but if it means playing more than two bloody matches with a fully-built character, then count me in.

I actually support this notion.

Nobody really likes resetting their lvls, but it's rather counterproductive to have a class sit at lvl 20. I wish the extra xp would rollover to the next promotion so we wouldn't have to play at lower difficulties, just to play again on higher difficulties, rinse and repeat to infinity.

75% of players in the fade do not promote.

I have no big issues with the how this part of the game is handled.  After promoting you are level one for one whole whopping match and are up at 7 or 12 or so depending on whether you play threat or perilous.

Why not just make this game a more normal RPG?  You bump up your stats at every level (or every 5th level or whatever).  No resetting - just keep going up.  Why do we need a reset to level 1 mechanic in the game?  It's really weird.

It's not fun being level 1, even for one match.

That's why it should change for the next game.

You should at least start with 4 starter abilities.

And there should be an incentive to playing at lax level. Let you accumulate exp for your next promote.

Because they don't want to make a mini-MMO and because of power creep.

Have you seen how strong some level 1's are ?

It would appear, to me, that people do not want to invest the time (months and months and months).  That is perfectly fine.  It is a choice.  This game is a grind.  It is not for everyone.  I happen to like it.

The game is designed that way.  Many people enjoy it that way.  I find it a lot of fun.  Stop trying to change a game you are not happy with.

These are not the droids you are looking for.  Move along.

Who said the progression from 1 would be any different from it is now? just make the mid - late teens require more exp.

I hate the current system,

because I don't enjoy having to delevel back to 1, once I have a perfect level 20.

It suuuucks.

I mean you could still keep the delevel system (for those who want a freerespec and like releveling),

but also letting us accumulating exp after level 20 would be nice,

to keep promoting and stay at level 20, if we want.

But, no, there's no choice, we have to gimp ourselves to get stronger. Yuck.

I think I have this promotion thing figured out.  I just kept promoting the low level OP characters like Reaver, Silent's Sister, and Saarebas.    Those 3 got really good abilities by level 6 to 8 and could pretty much jumps to higher difficulties.    That way I could keep the rest of the characters at high level for the fun stuff like following someone else and pick up pots and such. :D

Maybe just start at level 5, once you promote. It's not a big deal in team less spent levelling, since you even get to level 5 with one Routine match. And at the same you have a few more of your skills available to you after a promotion.

That would get pretty boring quick, but promotion lords don't care about pleasure they promote through the pain....
