Because even though it's bugged, it still does very little damage in the grand scheme of things no matter how you spec it, and I pretty much spec Dark Sphere as if the DOT didn't even exist. I take Damage at R4 because I want more detonation damage, and who cares about the DOT. I spec Radius at R6 because I want more radius, and who cares about the DOT. The only useful function of the DOT is to give me a priming window for Warp Ammo and biotic explosions anyway.

Well, according to kalence the DOT damage is not small. I aim the sphere into the ground so that it stops where the enemies are.
and use all power magnifiers

also, I don't like to pay for something I don't get.
or in this case even the opposite!

but do you know if the detonation radius also affects the priming radius...? because that would be something that really could change my mind.

I'm pretty sure that even though the duration and damage increase at the same rate in the evolutions, they actually reduce the dps slightly when choosing them. :/

Yeah I've always operated under the understanding that DOT decreases damage on DS, something about "it does the same amount of damage over a longer time" bug of sorts.

sure. that's the reason why I was astonished that people take these evolutions

Sorry, I meant that the difference in DOT damage is not very significant, no matter how you spec it.  I don't know whether it affects the priming radius, but I would guess that it does, because everything hit with a detonation is primed.

I'm not paying for something I'm not getting, because I'm paying for the radius and detonation damage.  Like I said, I don't care about the difference in DOT damage. I prefer a larger radius than 4.5m on the detonation, and I want to make sure the detonation does enough damage to break shields on most mooks, so subsequent warp ammo and biotic explosions will do their best damage.  My build achieves what I want it to achieve.

I see.

I usually don't let the sphere detonate.

I prefer being flexible with quick cooldowns and just have the 4 explosions from Seeker Swarms. seems sufficient.

also, everything is primed, all the time

Yeah, I detonate the sphere all the time.  Unlike most biotic powers, there's no penalty against shields, so sphere detonations are great for dropping enemy shields.  If you're not detonating the sphere, then you wouldn't want to gimp the DOT, because it isn't doing any other damage.

What are some of your most-loved-but-never-seen-in-PUGs classes?

The QME, for apparently not obvious reasons, is one of my 3 favorite kits. You've got CC, shield stripping, armor damage, boss killing, decent passives, good health. He is tech-bursting, kill-streak earning, crowd-controlling, fire-exploding (Quarian) master (race). I never see this kit.

Same goes for the Falcon GE. Falcon stagger, OL stagger, tech burst stagger, he is a Phantom-bullshit-negating badass toaster with a ton of utility. I never see this kit.

Drelldept. Spawn-nuking, fast-moving assassin in a badmutha black trenchcoat. I never see this kit.

I see a ton of soldiers, usually Juggs, infiltrators, esp. the Sexbot, along with a few classes I'll never understand, but the aforementioned are an amazing trio that I just do not see, and for the love of Drell I will never understand it.

Worst thing about seeing those rare QME pugs is that most don't play him to his full potential. Stahp debuffing dead things. One must burninate and nade to keelah and back.

Another missing or rarely seen kit is a Batarian Slasher. Strongest nade based biotic combo in the game and has an answer for everything.

At least on PS3 in pugs, I almost never see anyone else play the volus mercenary, besides myself and I remember I saw one pug play it but it wasn't, that amazing though.

I love the little guy, I used more than like 50+ reset cards on him because I always keep changing builds, to what suits me or just for experiment to see how it'd go.

I recently tried an unorthodox 6/6/6/0/6 build on him, giving up the passives for the fitness, while suffering a 6+ sec cooldown on shieldboost

66606 is pretty good.

It's now one of my go-to kits.

With a Cyclonic IV last night I was facetanking atlas duos. (Prime duos are too much) Didn't do too badly score-wise either. Just with pugs though. Was using the Typhoon then switched to the Wraith. Lots of fun, and volus seem to have the most tricks out of any kit in the game.

Double-cloak

Heavy Melee shield restores into another shieldgate

Heavy Melee stun locking (Saved a few people from goonsquads by stunlocking all three of em this way)

Decoy detonations

Drone detonations

Decoy shocks

Drones shocks

Tech Burst Ammo detonations from the above four detonators.

And if you put a staggerstick on him it's ridiculous, although I've been aiming for weapons with a higher damage.

I think I'm 6/6/6/4/4, but that's iirc.

I love all the quarians and never see them enough (i.e. as all of the other 3 squad members in every single game I play).

I also notice almost all of the quarian males are becoming extinct on xbox.            Never see them unless I am using one of em.

If by that you mean people who refuse to play quarians every single game, than you are unequivocally correct. The lowest common denominator of players in this game would rather pick a big stupid toaster with a retarded shield and melee 1 or 2 things to death each wave then bleed out while I carry them.

My warm-up kit is always the SI, followed by the HE.

I had a Batarian fever when they were lauched, specially the Raider Batguard. So satisfying! The only kit I use Power Efficency Modules.

What I REALLY don't see (never, tbh) is the Human Sentinel. Haven't see one in years.

Several from my perspective. Most of the playerbase doesn't seem to understand how effective the below kits are:

Drell Vanguard - best kept secret in the game, still really good off-host (surprisingly one of the best off-host vanguards)

Battlefield 3 Soldier - This guys is awesome, a real powerhouse capable of wiping out spawns very fast

Vorcha Soldier - Overshadowed by the Vset and GT, he is also really powerful and resillient

Human Engineer - Is there a more diverse kit in the game? One you can comfortably take into any difficulty random set up and have an answer for everything?

Human Adept - Big boom specialist crushes Reapers and Collectors, and still effective against the other factions.

Salarian & Drell Infiltrators - These kits seem to be overshadowed by other infiltrators, but these are two of the most powerful and diverse kits in the game. Both have excellent survivability

Boy I sure agree with the bolded one.  I hardly played the class for a long time when I first started but later on it became a real wrecking machine, especially vs geth.

The only kit I can think of as more universal than the HE is the Paladin. Shield stripping, armor damage, debuff, slows enemies, his own primer/detonator, there's not a lot he can't do, mooks or bosses, doesn't matter.
