I got 3 chests as well and my victory chest contained... 3 drakescale armors (all rogues) which thanks I guess except I was almost done with the challenge to get all of them. I'll say I guess it was nice esp. for people starting out but like most people I was holding out for one of the level rare items that have a low drop and not something that you're already guaranteed to get by playing the game.

Honestly, this is probably what happened.  The reward was originally supposed to be the new armors, but then they probably added the challenge instead.  IF this was the case, then I would say that was a good call; now all people can get the armors even if they missed the event.

And yes, we added the drakescale armors to the class challenges so that people who missed the book challenges would still be able to get these pretty sweet armors.

That's an awesome idea though, special unique limited-timed armors as rewards! That would've made the month long challenge actually worth it, but i guess you guys don't want to exclude anyone which is understandable.

I didnt get a chest with 24 things in it. I got a chest with 3 drakescale armour sets in it, one of which i already had.

This would have been an awesome surprise if the armour challenge had come out after this chest drop. Then people who missed the challenge would be awarded the opportunity gain it through normal grinding, while at the same time they would be encouraged to participate in weekend challenges more to be the first to get cool/better equips like this.

Addition: Even if they say they'd give us stuff if we already completed the armor challenges it would just be empty promises just like the ban for the "2x XP cheaters"

Sorry for not wanting to lock people out of content because they couldn't do one of the weekend challenges.

Isn't that sort of the point of making the challenge a month to month thing? To reward players with something awesome for putting forth the long term effort to acquire that lovely box at the end? 

 

I could understand if it were say a character in the chest that only appeared in the chest or a belt upgrade to carry more potions, but its armor (albeit shiny armor) that's slightly better if you have enough promotions to give up that % to resist that the other armors grant you. 

 

Are the weapons at least in the Unique category? Or will I be acquiring a box of Highland dirks to make Knife Armor out of?

let's look at all the positives here:

 

If you don't have the Drakescale armours, then it's a nice reward

 

If you do then the items will hep towards your item score

 

If that is maxed out then you can salvage them for mats, either for weapon parts, character armours or dragon calls, the last one of which you'll probably need most of all.

I think this is super nice, I don't get to play as much mp as I'd like to currently so I didn't finish the xp challenges for all the classes yet and I just got suuuuper lucky and my chest unlocked the drakescales for my two favourite guys. Hell yeah!

It don't matter what you guys do its never good enough you may as well hand over the code and let these guys make the game.

Same. I got the armors for Luka, AW (one of my faves) and Saarebas. I already finished the warrior chest and am close to finishing the mages chest, but I was so happy about seeing those three armors in the chest.

I've only completed the mage challenge for the new armors,so the Katari,Templar,and SS armors I got are a pleasant suprize.

It´s hard to do it right for everyone. 

 

I think the people here simply wanted something special, not another RNG chest even if the special thing were a staff that shoots flowers and simply looks awesome would have made some people happy

Serious question: What was the point in a 5-week challenge to get something you can unlock inside of a week? There was nothing new or interesting about any of the challenges, and some were even repeats, so I'm struggling to see the logic.

 

For the record, the fact that people feel duped out of something new and interesting is secondary to the fact that their reward instead was pure RNG, which is far from generous. The only purple weapon in my chest was a level 9 Blade of Red Birth. I have no use for that, or the salvage it became.

 

The issue here seems to be that people were looking forward to a more concrete reward. On that note, set item rewards for challenges is a good idea.

Isn't "if you missed it, you missed it" kind of the point of time-window challenges, though?

I'm hoping that if it is a fixed reward then we at least have a clue as to what it is if not told outright. I was in the unlucky position of having almost finished the last of class challenges (just needed a couple more nightmare runs as a rogues) when I got the chest. Had I known what it was I would have waited until after I finished the rogue challenge.

That was my frustration with how things played out. I don't know, this is sounding snarkier than I'm meaning it to cause I do appreciate the thought in coming up with something cool.
