Really feeling robbed by that gold medal challenge. There's no point in trying anymore if they're just going to throw something like that in midway through. I quit.

Look, I'm really happy for the people not having the Drakescale armors already, but you've set the expectations high and boy that was a disappointment.

I completed the Rogue Challenge the Friday it came out, completed the Warrior one on Saturday and did Mage on Sunday. That's a hell of a lot of work for 3 days, I'll concede that, but making the Drakescale armors the ONLY reward for a 5 weeks challenge after clamoring it's gonna be cool and all, well it's the TOTAL opposite.

I didn't really expect anything, because let's face it, for Bioware "really cool" or "amazing" is just another way of saying an RNG chest. But damn, even that huge RNG chest was worst than most normal chest I get in the store. For all my "work", I got 1 level 7 purple that went into immediate salvaging because... do I really have to explain why? And that's when being in the freaking highest bucket loot! I'd hate to be in the middle bucket loot... I guess I would get 21 Army Dirk and a big thank you from Bioware for playing!!!

There need to be something done about the RNG, there are too many items. Even if you had a chest with 8 Purples level 20+ for 2K, I would still salvage 95% of it while some items would elude me for months with the current drop rates. It's becoming very irritating and I can't believe you expect people to grind away THAT much. You have insane expectations about the RNG, I already play over 30 hours a week and I can't even imagine the day I'll get my hands on all the items that I wanna try! Do you hate us that much? When are you gonna realize the fun should be playing with the items, not gambling for a chance to get it?

Just for the kicks, here are the items I still wanna try:
  • Bosun Blade
  • Superb Belt of Urgency
  • Bloody Bargain
  • Hakkon Dagger (a second one)
  • Silencer
  • Yvannalis
  • Amulet of Physical Immunity
  • Bolt
  • The Dancer's Axe
  • Heart of Despair
  • Bow of Artifice
  • Brand
  • Rime
  • Andruil's Gift
  • Leeches
  • Tezpadam's Bane
And that's only the ones I keep track of, I'm not including those you might add in the coming months. It's simply impossible to actually get all of those by playing 30 hours a week for the next 3 months, people have lives outside your game... Like the Inquisition Captain says so well: They're killing me, do something!

It's really high time you listen to your own advice. It's becoming increasingly a problem for a lot of people.

Think this way: you are not supposed to be able to obtain all of them as intended by the devs (not in a years time anyway) so that when they stop the support for the game and there is no more new contents, hard core players like you would still grind your 30hrs a week for another year or so.
What if players dont like the experience? Well i guess thats no the devs fault... Bad game experience? Who cares! As long as people are still busy grinding in agony after the support ends, they are fine with that.

That chest was glorious: I have never hit the "Mark for Salvage" key with such speed and frequency on a single chest. That reward required an unprecedented level of mechanical mastery.

10/10 Would salvage 23 items in a row again.

Well, I am not gonna say anything. I went through my sad phase yesterday and then just shrugged it off because I am prestige points junkie and I got more of them. But on slightly related note, can I bump this?

....staff that shoots flowers and simply looks awesome would have made some people happy ;)

Cause now I just really want staff that shoots flowers!

The reward was the drakescale armors.

And yes, we added the drakescale armors to the class challenges so that people who missed the book challenges would still be able to get these pretty sweet armors.

Soooo yeah, a little less toxicity.

I already had all the Drake Scale armor...

Why give people armor when it is locked behind a progression challenge?

How about start giving people some decent weapons so you can start closing the gap that is imposed on the new/old community?

I seriously do not understand this logic, you lock things behind challenges/dragons and a few weeks later those things I wasted thousands of mats on farming start dropping as much as highland dirks in normal chests.

It's a right kick in the balls whilist punching us in the kidneys.

Chest of Uniques or don't bother peddling the "This reward is much better" when it's pretty much all salvage..... Yay more salvage.

Got the Bloody Bargain from the WE challenge. First useful item since february (Walking Dead) from a challenge.

MEMP had a better ratio though, we got something useful for every challenge back then =)~

I got a Bloody Headache when I opened my chest.

Live Stream was like "This is the best chest we've ever made" and was the worst chest I've got from any Weekend challenge.

I've had crap store chests with crap items that were still better than Book 5.

I understand I've been damn lucky with RNG. But yeah, Heart of Despair is neat. I hope you get it soon.

The only thing I could even think to mention in a negative about HoD is that it's a rune slot only except the staff design is unfinished; it has the ugly default rolling pin as the blade. If the powers that be fixed that, no more stats added just visual, then it'd be pretty and practical.

I can't believe I said it'd be pretty. Anyway.

I have the Necro using HoD, blue Winter's Grasp ring, purp +Flanking Damage ring, and less threat amulet. When she is at a higher level with all cold spells I will use the Winter Pact belt and see how that goes. I am hoping it will be so fun I can lovingly call her That Cold Hearted ******. ;-) lol

Edit in: The less threat amulet doesn't seem to work, either that or other players in the PUGs this morning had it on too. Also not a fan of Blizzard, mana drain is very fast. Think I will stick with Winter's Grasp, Frost Step, Ice Mine+Armor and then a non-Ice power.

Edut 2: Winter Pact in Perilous is well... Perilous. 163health. If only Necro's ghost form+death syphon worked as a self revive then it wouldn't be so bad.

Spoiler

I picked that one up last week, it's a fun one on the Reaver (and you'll get a bunch o' puzzled PMs as to how you're generating guard ;) )

The only thing it lacks is some way of putting HoK on it...

I think in Canadian English it means something different to standard English.

One chest got you 24 salvageable items? Sweet I might get my 3 cloth after all! Now I'm hoping to get some cotton.

I'm not gonna get cotton am I?

Oh, so the salvage chest was only for those with all the Drakescale armor already or something? I ended up getting 3 Drakescale armors for kits I have purple armor for. Oh RNG. you know just how to mess with people sometimes.

BTW, I did get some cotton out of the other commendation and victory chests(2 Lustrous) so it wasn't a complete waste.

Best thing from the free chests were 1 dragon call.

I'm sooo sooo sooo overly excited, since I have been waiting for a dragon call for ages!

Well hey, if it makes you feel better then I got the Shield of the Anointed. It has a high-ish armor, 2% chance to activate fade cloak - which I find, is more harm than beneficial ability because of the mechanics of the ability. Do not get me wrong, it is nice to get additions to the collection but an ugly shield that is worse than the ones I already have wheres I see how some got lucky with items I am after as well got me a bit upset, I have to admit it.

It is no ones fault thought and it is healthy jealousy that good for players getting items that are worth a while. Still with a shield that I won't use in my inventory, 50 copies of a weapon that I do not need more and a few days to week famine of any even slightly worth a while item, I do feel a bit let down by the RNG to get an item like that. Maybe I am just too spoiled.

I think the salvage chest is actually the Drakescale chest, but if you have Drakescale it get replaced by random items. I am personally pretty happy with the bunch of extra chests myself, and is happier that other players can get the Drakescale by other means.

Maybe people would be a bit happier if they are replaced by Dragon's Call or Cottons? Or maybe BW just hyped it a little bit too much so people are disappointed... on the forum.

Probably not. I have no use for either of those. But yeah, they do keep over-hyping these rewards, so what are people supposed to be when the challenge ends and they get a chest full of salvage, if not disappointed?

Throw me into the "disappointed" category. Technically I hadn't finished the XP challenges yet, didn't have much time to play last week...but had I known the chest had the armor I wouldn't have even opened it until I finished said challenges. Except apparently even then it wouldn't have been halfway decent.

I don't see why I should be encouraged to wait to open a chest until I check the forums and see what other people have been getting.

So, basically the devs are promoting false advertising 'cause these rewards are not worth being a month long challenge.
