Maybe lesbians don't bother arguing because it's a lose-lose proposition.

I get your ****** point, but I don't consider it relevant or worth addressing. They're just monsters.

And yes, the darkspawn were updated in DA2, and they maintained that appearance in DAI. Hence why I said "they've looked that way for two games now."

If they are ' just monsters' why do you care so much? Of course you don't consider my point relevant as the desire demon's form already caters to your tastes. I guarantee you guys wouldn't be dismissing this point if the desire demons had been represented as nude males from the start. We'd have all kinds of whining threads over that!

I don't recall any dudes complaining about all the shirtless qunari in DA2 or the Iron Bull in DAI. I don't think anyone turned in their copy of DAI because Cullen lost his shirt during Wicked Grace. I don't think the evil straight males are as sensitive as you think.

If they are ' just monsters' why do you care so much?!

Because of visual consistency! They looked they way they did in DAO and DA2. Even the statues of desire demons in DAI depicted them as female.

No one is arguing that shirtless qunari or Cullen are a representation of desire. Try again.

Visual consistency doesn't trump inclusiveness, IMO. In fact, if visual consistency involves the sexualization of women and women only, then **** visual consistency. It needs to be changed. Of course, if your priorities are to keep the status quo that benefits you, I guess you'll keep arguing how visual consistency is so much more important than the people that play the game who don't like the current desire demons. Besides, who cares about visual consistency? They're just monsters, right?

Because those shirtless qunari didn't seduce their PC. If those male desire demons seduced their male PC, we'd have 10.000 threads about it. :P

See: Anders, who instantly flirts the male PC. The complaints were so many.....

And the desire demons didn't try to seduce your PC either. Most of them just tried to kill you.

Yes, I recall the stink over Anders, which was silly. But it's irrelevant now; no NPC in DAI flirts with you, you have to flirt with them.

........ seductively. Please, we all know desire demons are made to seduce the pc and you, visually at least. If a male desire demon was looking at your pc with dreamy eyes and touching themselves while talking, we'd have a line of men having a hissy fit over "ew gay, a male desire demon was looking at my PC like this and that".

:P

But, but consistency! We should maintain the NPC flirting for consistency! Who cares if people didn't like it!

Okay, now I'm just yanking your chain. Gotta' have some fun, yeah?

No Desire demons usually seduce a victim according to their greatest desires.

With the look of a hot woman? A gay male PC wouldn't even be amused.

Though I recall Dorian saying he got seduced (kinda) by a desire demon, so I'd assume that demon was hot enough for him to sit and talk with. :P

A horny devil? (No pun intended). Desire demons often take forms of a person's loved ones or sometimes create illusions of them. They usually prey on their minds.

As a lesbian, I find naked men disgusting, so I'm content with just not having them to avoid favoritism issues.

People didn't like the forced flirting. Not because of the: OH NO HE'S GAY! Thing

i'm just gonna lighten the mood for the ones wishing for a male version

This is exacly what i want, if desire demons should return. It's basically the same as the female version, even the accessoires are pretty much the same.

What I want would be the usual female desire demon like in the previous games, something like the pic above, and some spirit-like thingy for the ones who aren't interested in lusty things as all. :P Which one of those options your protagonist will actually see, could be dependent on dialogue options or something like that. Nobody would need to cry about being forced to see naked women or men anymore, because it's all their choice anyways.

I would love both male and female Desire Demon models, changing upon the gender of your romance.

Comon DA4, this would be amazing! :)

I assume it would only be 1 extra model and a bit of coding to check your love interest's gender? The voice could be the same for both if they just use an androgenous tone and I would think the animations would be pretty much the same too.

Defnintely worth the effort to bring back such a unique Demon in DA and cater to most people's tastes.

And if desire demons appear before you have secured a love interest?

Then I would have them default to female to give some variety from the mostly male enemies xD

That sticks with the original concept from the first 2 games, and if you happen to be romancing a male, when they change to the male model, it will highlight their shapeshifter abilities!

A questionnaire will pop up just before the desire demon should appear where you select gender, height, weight, skin/eye/hair colour, clothing etc... and then the game will render the demon according to your choices. That's the only politically correct option.

No, that's the only lore consistent option. Desire demons have no set form and merely assume the shape best suited to represent the desire of their target.

If my straight, strongly Andrastian female Templar character comes across a desire demon who appears visibly demonic and visibly female, I am just going to have to assume that it's the stupidest desire demon to ever cross the veil, because that is only going to disgust her.

Any attempt to have desire demons sexually target the PC can only be done well with a truly absurd investment of time and resources. If desire demons are to be featured, they should be playing on other desires. The need for wealth, status, respect, power, whatever. Hell, they could take the shape of a powerful weapon. Since good loot motivates a lot of people, it would be a neat way to tempt the actual player. The temptation of making a deal with a demon should not be absent if I had a ****** ten minutes ago.

If desire demons have to appear sexualized, have them seducing other characters. They have stated preferences that aren't shaped by the player. Varric is only into female dwarves. Cullen is only into elven and human women. Sera is only into girls, goes completely mad for qunari, has the hots for dwarves, has no problem with human's and is least attracted to elves.

Desire demons don't appear as what you want. They appear as they are, and OFFER
what you want.

I mean, if you wanted muffins, do you think a desire demon would appear as a giant talking muffin?

Yeah I think the default female appearance of Desire Demons is what they really look like, but they can shapeshift to another form you desire.

I would be fine if they just kept the female deafult....as long as they bring them back.

The additional male option is just icing on the cake for girls and gays :)
