more team  work or strategy  or  you need massive stats to walk through them

exactly.

A level 24 Saarebas has 56k HP before barrier.

And full immunity to:

  • Knockdown,
  • Paralyzed,
  • Frozen,
  • Stunned,
  • Panicked,
  • Sleep,
  • Disruption Field,
  • Slowed (it doesn't even move),
  • Spirit Damage

On top of:

  • Perceptive to Stealth
  • Spirit glyphs can not be dispelled / cancelled
  • Spirit mines can not be dispelled / removed, and aren't even visible
  • Spirit mines that very often trigger the DoT bug and one-shot you
  • Massive physical damage on his leap's landing phase that doesn't even require LoS

The best strategy is to first focus on killling all the Ben-Hassrath assassins so you don't get affected by Spell Purge, then to kill the Saarebases at the end by very slowly eating through their health. It basically requires you to have a very effective DPS in the team, such as a reaver/archer/saarebas with pact belt, and a very effective barrier bot (keeper/saarebas).

I'm at the point where if I encounter them in NM I'd rather just create a new lobby to save time.

it has all to do with it, stop the whining press because if you lower the difficulty it wouldn't take you 30 mins  ;)

I see I'm feeding the troll, sorry for not seeing that earlier...

you always see the one sided argument structured for the sake of the initial proposition. I see the opposite side.

since i have been playing Zither and Hissera for the completions, i deal with him simply with power chord that wrecks him, strips barriers and he is susceptible to electric damage, and Hissera uses the curse and that wrecks him super quick. The curse works regardless of DPS as well kills him seconds. Reaver kills him in seconds, Lightning does extra damage against him that includes keeper static cage and chain lightning combo,  AW with storm belt chain lightning and auto attack, there are so many ways to go after him

Actually, the whole Qunari faction is just an easy workout for him.

You can't do anything against them. And they're immune to Disruption Field.

Pls nerf.

your a casual player and its your stats that  are  nerf try buffing them before calling for a nerf to eniemes

Read this:

The Qunari are also completely terrible for new players. No, I don't mean myself, I mean new players I'm trying to get to play DAMP. It's really, really, really not fun to have to keep saying "Look, the Qunari faction is ridiculous, you shouldn't feel bad because you're struggling so much all of a sudden on Routine/Threatening." It's completely discouraging for those new players who don't know enough about the game to understand the "meta" in terms of faction balance (or lack thereof).

Hell, yesterday I was trying to get a friend to take the step up to Perilous. Guess what we got first game: Darkspawn. He died far more than he would have vs Red Templar, Venatori, or Demons. Okay, fine, we made it through, now he's thinking "Well, that was really rough but at least I have a better idea of what Perilous will be like."

Second game we get Qunari. He just dies constantly. And he would not have against the three original factions, and even vs Darkspawn it wouldn't have been nearly as bad. It was an awful experience for him.

Interesting, I have no high end gear and low promotions but I like the saarebas as an enemie as well as the whole faction. The bug on FC should be fixed and the DoT bug, but nothing else why are you crying like babies ... ok I haven´t tried them on HB :D  but on all other difficulties they are just fine. hard but fine :)

Only new players or ones still having low gear and promos will have probs with them. Compared to other factions they are hard that might caught them off guard ;)

Most of the players here are experiencend well geared and promoted (not talking about promotionlords) and you complain? Shame.

Wish I could delete this thread. The Saarebas is overpowered compared to elites in other factions, but I like fighting it. I'd rather buff the rewards than nerf

No. You don't need 40/40/40 or something to do Perilous. In fact, you need 10/10/10 (aka, zero promotions, but you do need good gear and a higher level character initially).

I mean, do you even know how math works? A new player getting up to 20/20/20 is only a 7-10% increase in overall power...which is not going to turn the Qunari into the difficulty of the other factions. I was doing *NIGHTMARE* with less than 20 in each stat initially.

When a group can handle Perilous Demons, Perilous Red Templar, Perilous Venatori, and even (with difficulty) Perilous Darkspawn...they shouldn't get obliterated by Perilous Qunari. That doesn't even necessarily mean individual mobs need a nerf -- just having *less* of them would make a massive difference.

And gear, and L2P and teamwork... most of which clearly a lot of players don't do.

I do love those promotes though. The fact is very few people want the low promote players around on higher difficulty settings because they're a liability and they often have none of the above. The very few exceptions being those willing to carry and support the others, by finding others that are actually smart and capable enough to play support classes. That sort of teamwork doesn't happen in pugs the majority of time intrinsically due to the nature and risk/reward of pugs.

Aka lunchmeat vs the right DPS classes & builds. I think think of half a dozen builds that absolutely melt that in 10 seconds or less. Usually way less unless trolled.

But the inflated health, immunities and armor the Qunari and Darkspawn have means that new players are slowed down considerably if they encounter them. So they need more promotions to tackle these new enemies, but at the same time these new enemies are slowing them down from more promotions.
