Is it just me or should I was never here be much higher in the assassin's tree. Or in the opposite tree on the way to deathblow. It's pretty crucial to getting in and out without getting face stomped. And you have to choose either that or good attacks. Making the assassin nor a very fun play til later levels.

I think it is fine where it is.  It is one of the more powerful passives she has, so having to invest a  lot of points to get to it seems fine.  It should stay in the right tree because that is the stealth tree; It would be odd to have a stealth passive be in the offensive tree.  My only problem with it is that it is locked behind an active ability that it doesn't relate to.

Coming from a promo lord ;-). It's not necessary but she can't take a hit when you don't have the promotions. So it's nice to kill and go back to stealth before she gets turned into a pin cushion.

Never taken 'I was never here' myself, as it is too far down the other tree for it to be of use, plus I don't like unlocking abilities I'll never use. I've found that Stealth, Flanking attack, Hidden Blades & Deathblow can get you through perilous ok, you just need a half decent support team.

Use rank 2 flank attack for your stealth.

I have been playing assassin mostly this weekend because I just unlocked her.   She is fun to play and it is cool to one shot things.   But she felt kind of helpless in the group.   The archers and casters are AE'ing things all around.   In Zone 5 is pretty bad.  She will run around killing things 1 by 1 and by the 9th or 10th guys the whole thing is over.   About the only time I felt useful to the group was taking out the bolters one by one, but the reaver does it much faster.

Playing the assassin in a group is like the title of this thread.  I was never here.  :P  I do like that ability but it seems to drain too much stamina.  I was always low in stamina if I kept using stealth.   Letting flank attack upgrade do the stealth seems to be the better choice.   I never had stamina problem with other classes.

Flank Attack uses more stamina than stealth, so wouldn't it do more harm than good? It also requires the same number of ability points to reach I Was Never Here, and the damage isn't great. Also, iirc, Looked Like it Hurt tends not to proc with ability crits that kill. Is that still an issue?

The Assassin tree really is underwhelming as far as stealth goes, though. The build I use gets the passive in question at level 19. Considering that I sometimes bypass level 19 completely, I regularly don't even get to use it.

The problem is that after I steath, I use twin fang (or whatever that starting ability calls) to kill.  After that I use Flank Attack to go back into stealth.   At that time the twin fang cooldown is over, I could use it again to kill.   But that's about it.. I am out of stamina.    I thought I have Looked Like it Hurt, maybe it is still bugged?   I tried to take most of the stamina restore passives but they are just not as good as the "flow" one that Silent Sister got.

I am thinking of going to get deathblow (which my SS has and it was awesome with no cooldown on upgrade), but it still uses stamina I think...   It felt kind of weird that all my abilities are up but have no stamina to use any LOL :P

Deathblow is great on the Assassin. You actually don't need to upgrade it for the "no cooldown"

It doesn't have one even if you don't take the upgrade.

Once you get enough "bonus Critical Hit damage" and a strong enough weapon you'll be stealth flank killing with Knife in the Shadows + Evade and those grunts don't stand a chance. So far I know it works up to Threatening.

What?  How?  Bug?  (I mean working as intented? :P)  I really like deathblow on SS since I could just charge in genrating 50 to 60% guard, did damage to everyone around, then deathblow, deathblow, deathblow, etc....   the only problem I have is the screeching sound.  It hurts my ears.

It looks like your problem is that you are relying on Looked Like it Hurt (10 stamina on crit) instead of Dance of Death (50 stamina on kill). The Assassin benefits much more from Dance of Death because she has more powerful attacks that can kill things in one or two hits.

I see.  I have to check.  I am pretty sure I don't have Dance of Death.  Thanks!
