It looks like your problem is that you are relying on Looked Like it Hurt (10 stamina on crit) instead of Dance of Death (50 stamina on kill). The Assassin benefits much more from Dance of Death because she has more powerful attacks that can kill things in one or two hits.

 

Okay I figured it out.  I do have Dance of Death, but somehow Twin Fangs doesn't work.  If I killed something with Twin Fangs, no 50 stamina restore.  I tried it many times.   After I kill with Twin Fangs, I have to kill something else normally with just normal attack.. get the 50 back.   Now if I kill with Flank Attack, it gets the 50 back.  So I used 35 and get 50 back.   I guess I need to get rid of Twin Fangs.

Is it just me or should I was never here be much higher in the assassin's tree. Or in the opposite tree on the way to deathblow. It's pretty crucial to getting in and out without getting face stomped. And you have to choose either that or good attacks. Making the assassin nor a very fun play til later levels.

 

Yeah this has always been a problem, but it's even more noticeable now with the newer difficulties. Makes her a real pain to level up and promote.

 

Other characters like this are the Templar, Katari and Necromancer to a lesser degree, and generally any character who needs to go down both skill trees to be a valuable team member, or who is weakest at lower levels.

I have not used the Assassin regularly in quite some time (waiting for the Bosun's Blade), but I don't recall ever having stamina issues with Twin Fangs.  Maybe it got busted in one of the patches?  I do remember that Dance of Death didn't work properly with Deathblow.  And what's up with that bug where your stamina gets stuck at 50%?  I hated that one!

Nah, Twin Fangs is still working normally with Stamina. Maybe he experienced lag issues, Heal on Kill doesn't always trigger either when lag is in play. I've also seen Heal on Kill trigger several seconds after a kill, so maybe Stamina suffers from the same problem sometimes.

It's possible. I play Assassin on-host a lot at the moment, and I don't have issues getting stamina back. I do get the stamina lock, but I regularly Deathblow several enemies in a row without issue.

 

I should also note that I don't need to use stealth much, so issues with stamina return could just be from killing out of stealth.

I don't think it is lag since I also tested it just by myself soloing.   Stealth, Twin Fangs, killed whoever, Stamina did not restore (at about 60%).    Try again same thing.   Now if I do Flank Attack, my stamina bar stays full if the target (archer) dies.   I also did not recover Stamina with spinning blade or deathblow.  Now I have not taken Look like it Hurts.    Maybe after I took it, I won't see the effect because I will be getting 10 back most of the time.   Right now I have no other Stamina restore except Dance with Death.

Nope.  The 50 from Dance is pretty much missing on every ability kills (stealth or not) except for Flank Attack.

Ran her on NM yesterday, no issues with Stamina restore with either Twin Fangs or Deathblow.

BTW, Bosun's Blade on her is really good.

I have added Looked like it hurt and have less stamina issue.   But by looking at the stamina bar I could still see that ability kills (except for flanking attack) does not trigger Dance of Death.   I am about to add Dance of Death for my silent sister.   I could see if that works for her ability kills.

 

Thiis is on Routine and Threatening if that makes any differences.
