So, im a female warden that romanced Alistair, i found out that one had to be sacrificed at the end to kill the archdemon, but if Alistair did the dark ritual with morrigan people said my character and Alistair wouldnt die, but he still did, anyone know the answer to this?

It's must be a bug if you're sure the dark ritual was done.  As soon as the Archdemon goes down, your PC automatically kills it, there isn't even a debated moment of 'who will do it?'.  

 

If you chose the dark ritual, it would have showed it at least partially.  When you got Alistair to agree did it show a scene with him and Morrigan preparing to do the sex part, and was she present at the gates of Denerim before you choose your party to go into the city? 

 

This isn't a bug I'm aware of, but frankly if I'd reached that point in the game, thinking it was all arranged and suddenly find out it glitched on me I'd be p*ssed.

 

Are you currently running any mods that may have interfered with the ending?

He agreed to it and i saw the scene happen. I also made sure she was present at gates. I tried both having Alistair with me at the archdemon and i also tried leaving him at the gates, both times he died. I wanted to keep him alive so i could see him again in Awakening, so when i found out he died i was pretty disappointed.

 

I have a hair mod pack, aswell as a mod that makes the characters look abit more smoother.. Cuz lets be honest the graphics are rather old by now.

I only have two mods though..

I swear im going to cry if i have to play the whole game over without mods xD
