Do I have to play Hakkon or Descent to understand Trespasser?

Hey guys, I've bought trespasser today, but I haven't bought any of the previous DLCs simply because they are quite expensive here in Brazil (believe me, the almont of tributes our ***** government put on games is blasphemy, sometimes is almost 70% of the final price ¬¬) and I'm unemployed.

Will I feel lost in the story? I chose to download this because it looks like the most interesting of the three and It actually pushes the plot forward in a more relevant way, but I'm afraid I will feel lost.

Does this make any callbacks to the other DLCs? If so is just subtle things or major ones?

I haven't played Trespasser yet, so I don't know. But there are some things going on in Jaws of Hakkon that could relate to the situation with a certain party member who appears in Trespasser. So I would say that you should play through Jaws of Hakkon. Also, that DLC gives you an extra ability that is useful in deflecting projectiles. So I would get it if I were you.

Descent? Not so much.

Jesus. Hakkon + Trespasser  = the price I payed for the game last year. But back then I had a job so it wasn't a problem. Oh well, I guess I will watch hakkon on youtube and play just Trespasser.

They're nice addition, give you knowledge about things that may be important in future game (if there's any), but they're not essencial to Trespasser.

Could be worse, you could have destiny an then have to buy the new dlc, even worse pricing if your in UK

You sure? New games here in Brazil cost almost 2/7 of the minimum wage, that's just criminal. And they are even more expensive if you play on consoles and want a physical copy. Like I said, almost 70% of the price it's just tributes. It's no wonder piracy is so widespread here.

I bought Destiny base game for £45 i believe then the 2 follow up DLC at £19:99 each, now this new dlc is out and they want me to pay £39:99 for it, only because i paid for the last 2 dlc, if i had not i would need to pay £55 i believe

I never bought it, so basically now destiny is useless to me because im absolutely limited in what i can an cannot do

Lesson learned tbh, never buy a activision product, tbh the way gaming is going it wont be far before i get to a point where i wont be buying any product from any the big publishers, especially activision and ubsoft

When I went to buy Jaws of Hakkon, Origin said the price dropped to $10.89 or something like that, down from $14.99. Descent is $14.99, which is too much for so little content. So I don't [know] if that discounted price would apply to you or not, but check it out again just in case.

Also, the reason why things are more expensive oversees is because translation and localization takes extra effort and money.

DAI had only the subtitles and menus translated to portuguese. And not all games here get localized. We just get the US release most of the time, completely in english. What happens here is the exact opposite. If the game has localized content then he receives less taxes, so they are cheaper (resulting in some atrocities like the horrible dubbed audio in Battlefield Hardline and Mortal Kombat X, anything to get less taxes). So the only problem with the prices we have here is because of our ***** government. They seriously came to the extreme to put some heavy extra tributes just to use Netflix ¬¬'

And all thee DLCs are R$ 49,90 here, they had no price drop or whatsoever, they are the same price of the release date.

Well that sucks. Sorry to read about the extra taxes. That's outrageous that the DLCs are half the price of the game. I mean, it technically is here now as well, since Inquisition's price dropped from $60 to $30, but the DLCs (with exception of maybe Trespasser) are all just one area and main quest with a few side missions. As far as content, the DLCs should be one fifth of the game price at most.

At least you had a price drop. In origin, inquisition still has the same price of the release date: R$ 99,00 for the standard and R$ 124,00 for the deluxe. They do some crazy one day discount though, wich you can buy the game by less than the half of the prize, but like I said, one day only. If you bought the game congrats, because in the next day it will have the original price again. And that's in the pc. In the Xbox one the digital standard version costs R$ 160,00. How lovely ._.

Making optional content dependent on other optional content would be a bad move.

Jaws of Hakkon is good although it feels like majority of the game.

Descent is quite neat and u get to whoop darkspawn and learn a bit about titans. Story is nice

Trespasser is the best Inquisition DLC. Loved it a lot and it's an epilogue to Inquisition that gives closure abotu characters you know and sets stuff up for DA4.

So basically, I didn't make the wrong choice in buying just this one lol Even if the other two are good, but this is what I really look forward in additional content.

Hell no! I didn't buy either of the other DLCs and in Trespasser they never mentioned anything from either of them (unless there are a few bits of extra dialogue if you do them?). I never felt lost at all.

You can get the Legendary Edition with all the dlc's for £44.00 from Asda.

You made the right the choice. If you are only buying one Trespasser is the end to the story - the other two just bits of extra story. If and when the price drops on the other two I'd still recommend them though, I enjoyed both.
