Play D&D then. (or something similar) It's impossible to incorporate infinite choices into a video game, unless you want to spend decades in development.

Very true. To even come a little bit close, they'd have to start branching out the games. One whole game if you made choice X and one whole game for choice Y. Which would be great, but yes with the industry in its current state I don't see anybody doing it. Not without some super-rich-sugar-daddy (or momma) behind the scenes funding them no matter what with mad amounts of cash and resources.

Even then, you can only do so much before the DM runs out of patience.

That depends on your DM. If all your group, DM included, agrees on playing as villains or whatever option you imagine, then there's no problem. :)

They haven't really been shy about letting us accept genocidal plans in the past. What with the Krogan Genophage, the Dalish/Werewolves in DAO, the Annulment of two circles and the Geth.

Admittedly this is rather bigger than most of those.

The difference here is that you can make an argument that the genocide of the Krogan, Geth, Werewolves, and that one clan would be for the benefit of everyone else.

What Solas wants will only benefit his ancient elves.

That's still a basic foundation. There's definitely not enough room for both "infinite" choice and sanity.

Not infinite, among the infinites just two, a complete path for good guys (which exists since the beginning of times) and a complete path for evil. In a game like Dragon Age you could choose either path in each mission. Things were almost that good in DAO, in DA2 kind of less and in DAI almost inexistent, and usually when you can do bad **** against people it is because they deserved it. It is way better to let children being possessed of having sex with a demon. Of course no even DAO let you help darkspawn destroy the world but things were better back then...

In the short run, yes. But returning the world "as-is" will get rid of a lot of "the Veil is thin" effects the denizens have been suffering for a long while now. And there will be denizens. I don't see any races becoming extinct, even through this upheaval.

And NO this doesn't mean I'm pro-Solas-killing-tons-of-people.

I would "join" him... only to persuade him this world is worth saving and what once was... just... was. But it is hard to convince someone while you do not know, where he is and cannot talk to him... And even huge banners in dreams will not work...

It's not entirely clear anyone but the elves are suffering, and it's not 100% the case that all elven immortality and magic was worth the price of their tyrannical God kings and queens.

I wanted to join the Wild Hunt and destroy the world in The Witcher 3 because **** nearly everyone being in that world.

I was sorely disappointed and therefore that game is a horrid RPG.

Precisely. That's why NWN2MotB will always be the best RPG ever, in the end you can became the ultimate creature of destruction forcing gods to unite against you.
Seriously, nothing will ever be better than NWN2MotB, EVER.

...That would have been an amazing choice, so long as I got to snag Ciri--Jo Wyatt <3
