I've played a long time and yet I have always been wondering
if certain debuffers like "cryo blast" can already be applied while enemies are still blocking attacking-powers.

For example the banshee, I always wait the long time for her to nova and only then do cryo blast.

sorry - a quick reply would do. I am already embarassed enough ;)

Its not as embarrassing as gettin head from this chick and her ex boyfriend comes in pissed off and you run outta there with your pants around your ankles and a hard on.

To your question I believe the debuffs still work. Don't quote me on that

I'm not sure embarrassment is what I'd be feeling. Although I've never had that happen. Did have a fling with a co-worker (Who was basically married) in a hotel while we were on contract up in Whitehorse. Had the other co-worker who was sharing my hotel room try to get in at an inopportune time... Locked the door though, and he was so drunkfaced he couldn't get his keycard out for like 5 minutes. All that panic for nothing. =/

OT: I dunno. But the Banshee's power absorption doesn't last very long. Been powerspamming with my HMA lately. Singhilarity is fun.

Curious myself now.

It was my understanding all the debuffs still work, just not the actual damage (which of course doesn't matter in this case).

At least, I've always operated under that assumption.

I'd still like to know why the Banshee hand of denial treats melee as a power though.  Since pugs apparently don't realise they can't hurt a Banshee with powers when she is doing that, and they gimp my goddamn melee characters to hell.  If melee is gonna be a power then I should at least get benefits from passive power bonuses.

ok  - I am relieved that the answer to my question is not as obvious as I thought.

common sense told me that the enemies who can block damage-dealing-powers

are also able to block passive powers such as cryo blast.

However, if they aren't,

it would actually change a lot in my playing-routine.   That's why I asked.

And it would not be the first thing in this game that proves common-sense wrong.

I wouldn't worry. There are no ridiculous questions. Just ridiculous times to ask them. And this doesn't look like one :)

I won't answer though as my memory is failing and I'm not sure about that. I usually just spend whatever time the power blocking barrier is on for cursing the pug that forced it.

Not sure about Banshees.  For Phantoms, however, sometimes a Widow X with Phasic III headshot will 1-shot them through their bubble and sometimes it will leave them with a couple of bars of health left; as far as I can tell the only difference is whether I caused the bubble with cryo blast ( = dead Phantom) or someone else caused it with some other power ( = not quite dead Phantom).

I would have thought you'd spend that time getting double claymore hits

Zhoban is on my XBL friend list, and still seems to play ME3 from time to time.

i m pretty sure proxy apply is debuff even after/during the hand of denial.

For cryoblast or biotic orbs, as they are  projectile, i wld nt be sure. I m sure the debuff, if applied before, will run its course, but during the blocking animation ?

But a javelin HI test could do the trick easily. i ll tru to remeber to check on that next reaper cryo blast run.

I always played considering debuff are applied through
