Okay, it's day two of this crap. Unlike half the people on here, I'm not having account issues, my codes worked just fine. However, it would be really nice if I could actually GET TO the freaking server where the dlc is. Every time I try it I get the 'interrupted or timed out' message. I tried it at 6 am when I didn't think anyone would be hammering the servers, and it didn't even work then.

Do you want me to buy Mass Effect 3, Bioware? If so, I suggest you use Live itself to hand out the dlc and updates next time . . . anything else would be better than this crap.

I haven't been able to acess it at all yet to even use my codes. All I've ever got is the time out error over a 12 hour period . Talking to many folks at work today and not one has run into it. It's beyond weird how its only impacting some folks and not more.

Hopefully I have success when I get home in a couple of hours but I feel it will be another night of no luck and spending just as much time here looking for an update or resolution as actually playing the game.

Same here.  No problem connecting to Xbox Live so it's not an internet connection issue.

Yup same for me, been trying almost every 3 hours hoping to find a window where no one would be hammering the servers. I'd say that's not the issue here. I was chatting with a buddy over xbox live and he was logged into the server just fine, so as mentioned above, not an internet issue it seems...

So I found out they came out with an update today and yet they still havnt fix the time out issue...Why cant they just make it easier to access the DLC like other games...Same time out issue happen on DAO as well when trying to upload status to this "social network"... Job well done EA and Bioware.

Good news (for me at least), I just tried twice, didn't work the first, then I reset and it said there was an update (2nd one today for me now), now it works! Hopefully problems will be solved for you guys as well =)

I also tried clearing the cache, so that might have been the solution as well...

Happy hunting!

I wont try clearing the cache as thats where the ME1 saves are. Ilost them once already due to an issue with the PoP Epilogue DLC which I didn't notice till I played through ME1 again a couple weeks ago.

Thanks for the heads up though I'll give it a try.

EDIT: Not sure how you got a second title update but nothing doing. Only the one I got this morning.

Another thing I forgot to mention I did was reset the date on my machine to 15/11/2005 (this and clearing cache was suggested to me by a co-worker). I'm not sure how these matter, but he apparently found these tips on EA's help site, I'll try to find a link or post what it says in a sec.

From the EA help site (I skipped steps 1 & 2, only tried 3 & 4):

QUESTION

How do you resolve issues connecting online through the Xbox console??

Image IPB

ANSWER

Below, you can find a troubleshooting guide to help you resolve any issues you might have with online game play on the Xbox 360 console. We recommend following each step in order, for better troubleshooting.
Step 1
If you are using a wireless connection to access the Internet on your Xbox 360 console, try connecting directly to your Cable or DSL modem. If you are using a router, check to make sure that the router you are using is officially supported by Xbox Live.
Step 2
If your DSL or Cable modem connects directly to your Xbox
already, try power cycling the modem itself. This means unplugging the
modem from the wall, waiting one or more minutes and then plugging it
back in. Restart the system and try again.
Step 3
If the two steps above did not solve your issue, you will also want to try to reset the Xbox 360 clock by performing the steps listed below:
  • Press the Xbox Guide button on the controller to enter the Dashboard.
  • Sign out of Xbox Live by pressing the X button.
  • Select the System blade.
  • Select Console Settings and press the A button.
  • Select Clock and press the A button.
  • Change the date to 11/15/2005 and press the A button to accept.
Step 4
Corrupt files that are stored in your cache can also conflict with connecting to online servers.
To clear your console's cache:
  • From the Dashboard, click on My Xbox.
  • Select System Settings.
  • Select Memory.
  • Press Y to select Device Options, then Clear System Cache.
  • Reboot your console.
Step 5
If clearing your cache did not solve the connection issues, you will
want to clear your saved games files next. Corrupted saved game files
or rosters can sometimes interfere with your online connection. To
remove saved game files or roster updates follow the steps below:
  • Start your console with the game disc out so it launches into the Xbox Dashboard.
  • Select the System blade.
  • Select Memory and press the A button.
  • Select Games and press the A button.
  • Select the EA title and press the A button.
  • Delete all saved game files for that EA title.
After following these steps launch your game again and try to go online.
Step 6
If all the steps below did not solve your issues, check to make sure that the ports specific to Xbox Live
are opened up on your Internet Service Provider's end. These are the
ports that need to be open in both incoming and outgoing directions:
  • UDP Ports: 88 & 3074
  • TCP Port: 3074
We recommend contacting your Internet Service Provider or
Router/Modem manufacturer for information on how to open ports, or make
adjustments to your home network.

If you are still experiencing connection issues, Microsoft
has a diagnostics tool that you might want to use. Detailed
instructions can be found at the links provided below. If you have any
issues or need help with these instructions, please contact Microsoft at 1-800-4MY-XBOX.

Rolling back the time fixed it. I'd ask to have your babies but that would be just weird. Thanks for the protip. I had actually seen that up there but honestly didn't think it would help. Oops.

How do you change the time when if you're logged into Xbox Live time and date is automatically set?

Just got everything working. All I had to do was uninstall the game from my hard drive on my xbox and everything connected and working like it's supposed to.

Sign out of your profile, and then it'll let you change the date.  I can confirm that changing the date does work as well.  I've been having trouble all day connecting, and finally after I changed the date and logged back into my profile it worked.

I can confirm changing the time and uninstalling from hard drive worked for me as well.

This may be the stupidest bug fix I've ever heard of.

So if you can't login to the Cerebus Network comp on the beginning screen of the game because it keeps timing out, if you sign out of your profile on xbox live, change the date, sign back in then the issue will fix itself and you can get into the computer ??

Made no difference for me. It was worth a try. Deleting your cache would be the reason you got the same update twice today. Not sure what it fixed exactly. It's probably why Zaeed and Normandy Crash came though on the extras screen. I had deleted my cache to get rid of the glitched DA patch a while ago and it didn't affect my ME1 character import. I did not start a new game or delete my saves tonight but the CC and time reset didn't open CNet. My dloads aren't in extras either. Maybe my second playthrough. Glad someone's happy though.

I tried the time rollback method and it still won't connect. I don't want to beat the game till I get Zaeed, and I can't get Zaeed till I get this stupid thing to work. :/

I cleared my cache first, nothing happened. Resetting my clock and router seem to have worked, though. This thread should be stickied, since some of it should help at least a few people.

Yeah I don't see how the clock rollback is supposed to do anything. Logging into XBox Live automatically corrects the time/date.

This is exactly what I did and it worked for me. Hopefully others have success with it.

Also I would try this first before clearing the cache.

Cach did nothing and neither did the rollback. Basically I can't play anymore at this point until I get this fixed, other than mine. Least if I want to have Zaeed. very annoying
