I tend to play mostly dps characters, so tank builds kind of elude me. Post-upgrade toggles, is the immortal tank build that was on here still viable, or are we mainly replacing body guard with horn of valor? Like leaving the tank on pure ai, if that helps.

Nightmare difficulty, using even ground, walk softly and grizzly end. Simultaneously playing two characters, one a dw assasin, the other a rift mage.

My tank build thus far is all of W/S tree except for lunge, with shield bash upgraded for damaging guard, war cry and charging bull, then left side of battlemaster for horn of Valor upgraded to fortifying blast.

If i remember correctly it used bodyguard in place of fortifying blast to mitigate the increased damage from to the death. But yeah, I will try that. I have everything but combat roll.

Fortifying blast wasnt in the old build. Meant to say it used bodyguard for damage prevention like fortifying blast does now. only it transferred damage to the tank instead of adding guard
Here's a link to it : http://forum.bioware...-immortal-tank/

That's a bit dated even without considering Patch 10/Tresspasser. I don't think that build would have done as well in JoH.
That said, I don't think it's that far off. Just some tweaks. Maybe take some of the Vanguard points and move them to Champ for Walking Fortress. Maybe cut back on some of the passives and Payback Strike in order to get Fortifying Blast (not to mention Grappling Chain and Combat Roll). I think the lack of S/S actives might get a bit boring, but the trade-offs at the time made sense. Active slots are a real limitation then and now -- you may pay all those points in Battlemaster but only be able to use Fortifying Blast as an active.
