I get almost to the end and during my next cut scene I am talking to myself with Volta  no where to be seen. Any else experience this bug and know what to do beside reload?

Bad day to play Dragon Age it seems. I get to the end of the game, after killing Corypheaus and soon as the cut scene starts a freaking Jehova's Witness bangs on my front door.

It's probably a loading error, I played through it 3 times and never saw it. Reload your autosave and see if it's persistent.

I've had her disappear and could barely hear her talking.
She was stuck somewhere but I just kept playing until she popped back up on her own.

Sometimes they get stuck somewhere or the scripting screws up (I once had the game constantly try to warp the male dwarf back to the starting level, meaning he was absent for the entire trek to the second camp).

If a save/load doesn't fix it, you may have to leave the area and return (depending where you are in the dungeon, there are also certain sequences where they'll get warped to a new location, which should fix it at least until they decide to get stuck again).

Yea. She never popped back up for me. Tried reloading and resting at the last checkpoint. Went ahead and finished the game out,not even sure if there is a point in going back to the unlocked areas since the experience seems to be capped at 27 and the loot drops arent worth it.

Yeah gotta love the lvl27 cap *sigh

Although,
After trespasser and patch it looks like BW slowed XP gains by adding- no XP if an enemy is 3 levels or more below your Inqy

Does it make the DLC impossible to finish?

Also, if there's more than one Jehova's Witness, just ask them if they wish to talk. If they reply yes, tell them "There's (number of Witnesses) of you. Go talk to each other."

It didn't make it impossible to finish just very annoying as your talking to yourself and don't see or hear what Valda has to say or anything. It ruins all the cut scenes.

That's always been in the game. It's the soft cap, while the level 27 cap couldn't be raised with re-engineering the game.

Has it?
I just noticed it the other day for the first time and didn't pay attention before.

I am curious why they keep saying its a "soft cap" though.

Has it?

Yes, though there is an exploit that breaks XP scaling (any enemy that persists through a save/load gives unscaled XP when killed).

I am curious why they keep saying its a "soft cap" though.

They said it once, before release.

It wasn't ever really true, but it's not something they actually talked about again (the next time a level cap was mentioned was after the release of Descent, when they explained that they weren't going to be able to raise it).

I didn't mean to insinuate that BW had repeated that comment numerous times, although re-reading my post it does seem like I did...

My question was more, why would they call it a "soft cap" at all, even once.
Since clearly it is not.
I understand why they can't change it, but call it what it is.

A soft cap is one you can't reach. And it was a soft one in DAI. The DLC is what made it a hard cap. And apparently it has to do with the coding.

I don't see a solution here.

I had the same problem, so I left Deep Roads, traveled to some other destination (Skyhold, Black Emporium, ...), and when I traveled back, I had Valtar in party again.

Just for case that someone would need this little trick yet ;)
