Bioware isn't pandering and being politically correct because they believe its right, they are pandering to sell copies and it clearly isn't working. Well it didnt work with DAI.

The game sales were so mediocre that EA has yet to release its financial report and the DAI devs arent even sure in their will be a sequel.

If your going to pander bioware then pander to the ones who are actually gonna buy the game.

So they should aim to the lowest common denominator and release Call of Duty clone?

But then that would be pandering to the lowest common denominator.

To truly succeed in OP's magnificent vision, Bioware should just make games and never release them to the public.

If they have to pander to people like you to sell games I would rather see them shutter their studios for good.

smugdon.png Theres a reason why Mass Effect is alot more successful than DA. The ME team knows its audience and targets them unlike the DA games where the try to appeal to everyone when the should only to the majority. Bioware is a businesses 1st and forehand but they'll shut down regardless if they keep this up. GOT awards will only carry you so far.

EA doesn't release any sales numbers. I won't bother with the second part, which is the same as DA has always functioned prior to getting greenlit, but you should really take the first part into account regardless.

I'd rather they not pander to anybody. Period. Fan service is a detriment to creativity and (oftentimes) overall quality. They've established their franchise. The brand will sell itself.

Of course this is a pipe dream. And I'd never expect it to happen. Bioware just can't help themselves these last few years. Gotta indulge the community's fan fic fantasies.

What an original argument! "Bioware should not pander aka exclusively pander to straight males blah blah blah". Boring, can't you troll better than that?

I suspect if DA is failing it has more to do with the really clunky combat and game engine than who they are or are not pandering to. What ME did right is they made a solid game where they constantly improved the gameplay.  Dragon age did a half assed apporach to transitioning to a more action model and the lack of commitment to a style is damaging to the overall gameplay. All of cource IMO.

So explain the lack of known DAI sales even a year later. All we got was it was Bioware most successful launch PR talk nonsense.

What an original remark, sacrasm/tongue and cheek clearly isnt your forte. Feel free to try again and try not to to hurt yourself.

Hasn't bioware gone on record as saying DAI was their top selling game to date?

I agree, it has to do with unfamiliarity and changing the gameplay in every entry. The pandering still plays a role in its mediocre performance.

Nope, they said it had the best launch of all their games(not surprising since last year was a crap year for games). Not a word of it since.

Even CDPR are toting their impressive 6-7million sales.

I literally did.

It's standard operating practice at EA not to disclose exact numbers for its sales anymore.

http://www.fool.com/...iday-sales.aspx

This is what we get -- for all major titles -- because it looks nicer. You're right, it's PR. But it works. This is no Inquisition-specific conundrum. They couldn't say what it sold if they wanted to. We won't get official numbers on Battlefront come November, either. It's how they roll now.

It was prior to the corporate shift toward no longer presenting sales for any major title. This occurred circa the middle of 2014. Please research it.

What's your definition of pandering? Why are you attributing a lack of sales, a claim with no supporting evidence, to pandering?

Give us some substance to work with, outside of intentional provocation.

So why do we have sales figures and gross amount for ME3?

they're already doing that with vapid open worlds way to big for any developers to fill with content ending up with what could almost be considered an offline MMO?

If they should only pander to the majority then shouldn't they exclude female characters and black characters from their games? After all, the largest group of gamers is white males. And shouldn't they get rid of female protagonists too, since only a minority of players play a female PC?

...the first sentence of the post you quoted explains it.
