Cause DAI did a **** job at it and looked how that turned out. The fans seems okay with it but thats unaccepatble I recently stumbled upon a sheet with an overwhelming Broshep/Fmshep ratio and even though their are more male gamers than female i doubt the margin is THAT big. Mshep was the face of ME and wouldnt be surprised if some players didnt know Femshep existed.

This is not a SJW thread btw(i have never played a female character in a game, never will), this is a thread about Bioware(or should i say EA) needing to be more creative with their advertisement. If you truly try to appeal to any type of gamer like your fandom states you do than show it, your bro trailers wont make the Call of Duty crowd flock to your games any faster anyway. They didnt for the last 2 ME games and they wont now so stop pandering, especially to the shooter crowd.

This is a pretty wide net, but if you really want to get some takers, you should have it be a homosexual trans-female trailer, and bring up how MP is ruining this franchise.

It is strange that BSN on one hand claims to not care about sheploo or whatever idiot Bioware wants to canonize in a trailer, and pushes for a female in trailer on the other. whats wrong with focusing the trailer on the actual topic of the game which is the exploration of the games setting? Startrek: TNG anyone? Fallout 1-3?

Dragon Age appeals to women and gays, but a TPS like Mass Effect doesn't. So, no, they should focus dudes.

I'll say again that a customization trailer that shows off the different sorts of protagonists -- showcasing gender, differing faces, and of course classes and their abilities -- would be utterly fantastic.

Especially future vanguard charge. Don't tell me charge won't be in this game. I'm living in denial-land, where I'll get my old playstyle but magically better. Melee biotic...

Also, the most hilarious part of that graphic is the percent of people who romanced Garrus, given the proportion of femShep players.

GIRLS LIKE THEIR GARRUS OKAY

And don't forget to throw in how much you love Kojima, that one seemed to work pretty well. I think it might be a keeper.

DAI had more diversity in it's protagonists used in marketing than any Bioware game I can remember. That is to say, they used male and female characters as often as each other in trailers. In fact, for the story DLCs, they used the female protagonist as the 'norm'.

When talking about purely marketing, it's generally more effective to have a single easily identified character that acts as a sort of mascot for your game.

That said, it's still a good idea to draw attention to the customization of the PC to let people know that straight white male isn't the only option.

You know if Bioware just shut this place down tomorrow.... I wouldn't be the least bit surprised.

I wonder if they'll give more than 12 minutes' notice this time.

Right after making a thread about how BioWare needs to pander to the majority and ignore minorities, the OP makes this thread.

The BSN trolls are getting lazy. And stupid.

One character is better than two. In general, most people who play BioWARE's games can expect to pick male or female.

I don't know, I'd imagine it'd be pretty entertaining if you like to see people vehemently argue with each other for little to no reason.

I'd prefer if Bioware used two protagonist with iconiq look in the marketing side by side, one female and one male.

Though I wouldn't mind if Bioware didn't have iconiq look this time and rather focused on showing that PC of ME:A is customisable by showing different PC's everytime. Seriously it should be mentioned somewhere in the trailers that you are able to make your own character in the game and that you can play as female character cause otherwise people will miss crucial information like that and are less likely to pick up the game.

Having two characters side by side would convey the idea that there are two main characters and probably make people think ME:A is a co-op game, like Resident Evil 5.

-You know there are were pointless stupid threads in here that are funny and amusing to read, most recent stupid thread that was to some degree amusing was some thread about some "ugly rights" that in my opinion served more as "First troll thread in ME:A" that was pointless but amusing and funny at least lol

-And then there are threads like these who are:

Lol! If you care that much about the gender chosen in the trailers, then apparently, you've been having too much fun with the trailers than you are with the game. I don't care if they use a male or female version of the protagonist in the trailers. WHY? Because in the end, it will be "my" character in the game!
