I'm more worried about Velanna in this instance. >_____>

Oh god you know she'd be the first to join.

Maybe not if she was friended by a human warden?

But yeah there's not a snowball's chance that Fenris would join Solas. He's already got mage against him and there's very few mages Fenris will tolerate.

I feel that Merrill is up in the air in this regard.

No, not because I think she's stupid. But she does have a record of putting her people and it's history first. An ancient elf who could get her eluvian working and has the past knowledge that was lost might be too tempting to pass up. She did after all choose the elves in the Fade...just sayin.

Merrill's choice to leave her clan due to her ideological differences with Marethari isn't an apt comparison, though. Merrill could have taken darker routes to bring about a better future for her people (like mind control through blood magic), but she never did.

Merrill has also shown to care about people who aren't Dalish; the reason she can die in Dragon Age II is because she chooses to put her life on the line to protect the Starkhaven Circle mages.

She did after all choose the elves in the Fade...just sayin.

Everyone but Anders betrayed Hawke in the Fade. That doesn't really say much.

Zevran isn't an elfy elf, he wouldn't buy what Solas is selling.

Merrill is busy helping elves and I really doubt she would bet hat stupid to fall for this.

Bioware HQ:

Hey guys! Have you seen the reactions of the players who romanced a Qun Bull? Okay, now we start storyboarding Merrill's tragic downfall

Plus Zevran and Fenris aren't dumb enough to think Solas is their savior...and I hope Merrill isn't either.

I think Merril is that dumb to believe that and she will protect him till the end.

look at what she did in DA2

You might be confusing Merrill for Marethari, since the latter is the one who released Audacity.

Merril might go , first we have no bloody idea what Solas is telling the elves ,he lied to us the whole time in Inquisition just because he wanted his Ball of Doom.

And no not just "by omission" like he claims in Trespassers."Oh jeez Cassandra I've never seen any magic like this before the Breach , and I tell you the truth : I don't know any mage who would be able to have this power./Trollface."

Merrill is jut going to pee herself with joy if she met Solas .He's not afraid of magic , spirits , he knows Eluvian and he's an ancient elf

And he wants to restore the elves , so they have the "Gift " back.

Also Solas :"Jeez the Dalish are stupid , they weren't listening to me when I was telling them I was right and they knew nothing."

Merrill "Oh you too! My clan didn't listen to me with the Eluvian, they thought I was bringing doom upon them!"

Solas "Pfff , I know Merrill , you say you want to rebuild an Eluvian or tear down the veil and everyone is suddenly having vapor because they're too stupid to understand."

No seriously if Solas skip the part of the world burning in raw chaos , Merrill would probably end up his BFF.

I don't think you have a reason to worry. Zev barely sees himself as an elf, and Fenris just hates all kinds of magic and the "i know what's best for all of you" mentality.

Merrill is a bit of a "could go either way" case, but i don't think she would. In the end she has lots of non-elf friends and she really seems to love them. I don't think it's in her nature to sacrifice anyone but herself for the sake of her history or culture.

Velanna...she would do it. I never got the feeling she liked humans, even if she becomes friends with a human warden. She will blame them for everything, and would probably really enjoy watching them burn in chaos.

I can definitely see Merrill following Solas. She would do anything and sacrifice anything to preserve and restore elven culture and people. There's no way he'd use her as a spy though, she'd just come out and say exactly what she was doing to the people she was supposed to be tricking and then be like "oopsie."

Except she didn't "do anything and sacrifice anyone" throughout the entirety of Dragon Age II (unlike some other blood mages who easily abuse their power), and she spends her time in Inquisition taking care of Andrastian elves.

I'm also surprised at all the hate for Velanna from some people; are we forgetting that she can protect a human village from the darkspawn (all on her own) if the Warden helps her let go of her anger?

If it means seeing Merrill and Velanna again, I wouldn't mind if they're on team Solas.  I'd rather have them back and talk with them, then just not hear about them or get a few lines in passing from another character.

They could just as easily be on the side opposing Solas. Merrill is friends with Viscount Varric, so he could easily fill her in, while Velanna may have become a high ranking Warden if The Warden helped her overcome her anger, perhaps even finding her sister and the awakened darkspawn she was sheparding (whether or not the Architect is dead).

It would be nice to have some pro-Dalish companions after Inquisition, after the plethora of anti-Dalish nonsense we had to deal with from companions and even minor characters.

After DAI and Trespasser I don't see any pro-Dalish companions anytime soon

There was nothing "anti" Dalish about DAI - it had by far the warmest and kindest portrayal of them. If anything, DAI went a long way toward showing their virtue as a people, and the only character who was anti-Dalish was Sera, and she was just anti-elf in general.

But I cannot see either Merrill or Velanna standing with Solas. With the latter, even if she wanted to - and even if she gets to the point in her character development when she isn't a racist fighting a one person race war - I don't think she'd actually align with what Solas wants for the world or elves, if she'd even believe him. And it's silly to think Merrill would want to sign on to Solas's plan to genocide most of Thedas.

The Eluvian she built has nothing to do with her refusal to commit genocide or harm innocent people; she safeguards and protects the Andrastian elves whether or not the Eluvian was destroyed.

That's only is she keeps the mirror.

Don't worry, Bioware wants us all to forget about Awakening because it was a commercial flop. We'll never see any of those characters again, despite it having the best companions in the franchise.
