I mean, I know wearing an onion on your belt was the style at the time...

/Seriously though, I love the quality of art in DA:I (especially the watercolor card stuff) but every once in awhile we get this ridiculous cartoon j/krpg stuff that looks so out of place.

Is the Qun always looking over her shoulder?

Well, I guess it would probably be better if it was on her hip like the tomes on certain mage armours, but I don't see the big deal.

Ya? Books make good armor. Seriously. I shot a book with a gun when I was in high school or something. Flipped through it and found the bullet inside.

Might've been a dream...

Mythbusters did an episode where they tested paper armor. If paper was folded enough times it was only a little worse compared to steel at less weight. Plus they've done a few episodes where they test 'bullet-proof' objects, from lighters, to sheriff's badges, to books. And books did surprisingly well.

:)

Oh! That was probably it. No wonder it felt really really hazey.

It probably is SUPPOSED to be uncomfortable.  Enduring is probably a way of saying that the Qun works.  Fanatics often would hurt themselves in some fashion to show dedication.  Also, she's nuts.  She shows her dedication to the Qun by violating its tenants so she can start a holy war and convert the south.  The book is probably just another way of saying, 'I'm loony!'  Obviously, she DIDN'T do her research on the Inquisitor before taking a stab at offing them.  I mean, let's see here...

10 High Dragons.

1 Avaar God in the BODY of a High Dragon, and their legions of Avaar.

Leader of either the Red Templars OR the Venatori.

Numerous demons, bandits, thugs, criminals, mages, Templars, and HORDES of bears.

1 Ancient Lyrium Creature, and their lyrium chucking guardians.

1 Magister Darkspawn Monster and his pet Archdemon (actually red lyrium tainted High Dragon).

I'm sorry...at WHAT point did a Qunari Priestess with an attitude decide:  'Meh, I can take 'em.'  How does that NOT scream 'I need professional mental help please!'

Also, the book...its probably a copy of the Tome of Koslun.  Which she probably beats herself in the head with nightly because if she had ONE working brain cell, she'd probably TRY not to tick off the person who can shred reality with a gesture.  Just sayin'.

THAT would be uncomfortable.  As the Elder One...if you can FIND A PEICE!

Reminds me of Flagellants in 40k. Although that is whole different level!

Yes!  There is the example I was trying to remember!  Flagellation.   :D  Er, well, you know what I mean... :P .  And yeah, I wouldn't put it past them.  Viddasala was pretty hardcore for Qunari.  All about stopping 'the magic', as it were.  Suffering for the Qun seems right up her alley.

Yes, I'm sure the Qunari use their most sacred book as armor.

I don't think her going against the Inquisitor was the biggest lapse in sanity, that would probably be;

"Attempt to attack the elven mage who just turned my entire squad to stone in front of me... what's the worst that could happen?"

Yup, that WAS the nail in the sanity coffin...and...um...her OTHER coffin, as it were...

Maybe she likes to read in her spare time or something... she can't always be giving monologues to the Inquisitor, you know.

Nothing seems right about attaching a huge tome to your upper arm but at the same time, I get the heeby jeebies thinking about how rubbed raw her other underarm is by her armor, that comes up so high under her arm. Add a little sweat and OUCH...not that she'd care, of course.  :(  :P

Might've been a dream...

There's multiple reports (just from WWII) of soldiers having bibles in their pockets and bullets being stopped by them.

Which begs the question: Why not just string bibles together as body armor? Can't be much heavier than the kevlar and all the other stuff they use today...

Yeah, I also thought it was a copy of the Tome of Koslun. The Ben-Hassrath fall under the role of priesthood, after all. Still, carrying a copy of the Tome in a spot where it's likely to be damaged strikes me as a bit sacrilegious.
