We assume Thedas is a planet - a sphere - but that might not be true. For all we know it is floating on the back of a (bunch of) turtle(s) Titan(s).

The Empty Ones' Void was nothingness and it's quite hard to make an armor out of nothing, so you've already got a problematic contradiction there.

The plague eating Andruil's lands could have been quite natural or simply mismanagement, or the lyrium disharmonized the elven magic or the spirits. After all, the world was completely unfamiliar with the taint before the Second Sin and if there had been a large swath of blighted terrain somewhere they probably would have known something.

The Primeval Thaig predates the Second Sin, doesn't it? So theoretically there could have been blighted lands in the time of the ancient elves, which they quarantined.

I do agree with your larger premise - there are strong hints that the Void / the "old dreams" (the ones Cole references in his "wolf chews his leg off" dialogue) have to do with regular lyrium, not red lyrium. In addition to the Anvil using blue lyrium, there's also the whispers in red lyrium we hear in Here Lies the Abyss:

We have slept
We are sundered
We are crippled
We are polluted
We endure
We wait
We have found the dreams again
We will awake

"We are polluted" suggests these whispers aren't coming from the pollution itself, the taint. It also rules out the remaining old gods, unless they're tainted before the darkspawn reach them.

"We have found the dreams again" - the dreams blocked by the Veil? The titan in Descent stirred during the Breach, so there's a strong titan-y vibe to those whispers. Titans are, again, associated with blue lyrium.

Red lyrium's song appears to be more dangerous right now, but maybe removing the Veil and restoring the connection to the old dreams would change that equation. Right now, spirits can't even hear the song of blue lyrium unless they're on our side of the Veil, as evidenced by Justice's surprise at hearing it. Was red lyrium a failed attempt to cover up blue lyrium's song, before the more drastic measure of cutting off the Fade entirely?

EDIT: it would also be fun if the Anvil decision bites us hard when the Veil comes down. Surprise, Orzammar, those fancy golems are going full Sha-Brytol! Good luck controlling them now!

We don't actually know. It "predates" dwarves history, but it could just as easily have been both created and lost around the First Blight, or be from a group of Dwarves not associated with Orzammar, or just have been removed from the Memories because it was another tie to the Titans.

On top of that, its corruption can potentially be newer. If the Idol does depict Mythal (and Solas?) then it might have been made by a Titan to show its dwarves what was coming, or by Titan-severed dwarves to tell others of what had happened. In this case, it would stand to reason that it was made with blue lyrium and not red, and was corrupted later.
