Does it make any sense to craft armor or weapons that is lower in efficiency (for lack of a better word) than anything anyone in your party is currently using?  Other than to sell it?

Thanks!

What do you mean "Lower in efficiency"? Crafted gear is generally better then the crap you find.

Don't craft gear in order to sell it. You get **** prices.

No. Even the sale price is bad for crafted gear.

Well, it might be worth creating a worse staff that offers a different damage type? Though only if for some reason you couldn't craft a better one, obviously.

Also, crafted gear won't have level requirements.

Maybe because I'm playing on the easier setting, what I've been crafting hasn't been any better than what I currently have. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Maybe I have to create better stuff with runes and upgrades?

You need to find some decent schematics. You can buy them at the Black Emporium or in a shop in Val Royeaux.

+1. Tier 1 mats in a Tier 3 schematic makes for some decent gear. Not every slot has to be max tier. A few high tier mats here and there make a big difference.
