I'd have asked this in the Off Topic section, but, well...

So the question is: What's the deal with videos being suspended/taken down for having tags?

Nothing has happened to me, but I've seen it referenced in almost every discussion about YooToob videos being suspended or taken down. Details are never mentioned, so all I ever see reference to is this idea that videos are often taken down for having tags. I generally use 2-5 tags on every video I make. I assumed they have little effect, and never put much thought into it. I've always figured that if the option to put tags on videos exists, that it would be an acceptable practice to do so.

But I see tags referenced as a reason for videos being blocked so often that I'm somewhat nervous, given that all of mine have them. I was just wondering if anyone knew any details about what I'm hearing, or is this sort of an "urban legend" about YooToob (they aren't exactly very transparent, so I could see mistruths about the rules becoming conventional wisdom.)

I've never had any issue with it

I'm not aware of anyone who has had videos blocked specifically for tags, so I'm pretty sure there must be some exaggeration involved. Mostly I'm just curious about why it seems to get mentioned a lot, and whether there is anything to it. There may not be.

On a mildly related note:

World's most routine drug deal.

I have a queue of several videos that I am editing and uploading, as I had to hold off until I replaced some electronics. That's sort of what prompted the question.

Nice vid.  :)

I have uploaded a fair share of vids, used what I consider appropriate tags, and have not had an issue so far.  The only issue I have run into is using certain music in a vid (ie AC/DC, Queen) which were flagged for copyright issues, so I changed the music.  Too bad it's an issue for YouTuber's who are uploading vids for fun, no financial gain involved.
