While browsing some TLK files I found references to 6 unreleased gear items. I also found card images for them.

These are the damage upgrades for different types of weapons from different origins.

  • Add power to Alliance-manufactured weapons to increase round velocity and damage.
  • Add power to Cerberus-manufactured weapons to increase round velocity and damage.
  • Add power to quarian-manufactured weapons to increase round velocity and damage.
  • Add power to geth-manufactured weapons to increase round velocity and damage.
  • Add power to turian-manufactured weapons to increase round velocity and damage.

I don't see any code for these like there was for weapon stability ( vibration damper) so I don't think these can be fixed so they appear. i don't know if weapons even have code for their origin, since powers that use weapon origins (such as geth weapons) are coded into the power and not the gun.

I am unsure of what round velocity is. Perhaps it slows enemies more, or was going to be a small effect like hammerhead rounds would have.

These are called Firearm Amps, with the name of the issuer before it, so things like Turian Firearm Amp.

I don't see the point.  The Avenger is already deadly on full auto.

As if Arc Pistol wasn't OP 'nuff. Those upgrades would have been useless and would only prove useful towards players who are prejudice against guns.

Great, so there were / are actually more racial bonuses for each race??? People have always told me there were hidden bonuses for certain races..I never believed them...and I called them stupid..Thanks,   thanks alot for this...

That's the trouble isn't?

When u make game Mechanics
too simple - community get bored, too difficult - the community does 'nt reach critical mass.
Too expensive / easy to "buy" in / hack/ fake identity - long-term loyal gamers (the cash cow generators) lose interest.
Too many updates - infield bugs ; not enough "hooks" for future dlc - too rigid
Too many buffs&nerfs - followers becomes disillusioned : imagine ac/dc singing blues in concert....

Interesting, round velocity makes me curious. It was the key point, since the weapon damage from those gears can be obtained from the common weapon amp gears. They maybe tested it on a Javelin GI and Harrier TGI, and then thought that these 2 characters didn't need any additional help.

Loufi, that would relate from the weapon persepective, but we have dps already 4 that. I think mgmerz meant from the victim perspective - ie some racial advantage. Or mb I understood it wrong...

You can look at the code for Disciple, which rounds have a velocity enough to stagger mooks.  Perhaps if you can locate the relevant parameter, it may be possible to identify the codes for these gears.

Great find, Mgamers.

True, but I still kinda like it. But it really makes me wish that they patched the other kits to have dmg bonus to their lore related weapons.

Roundvelocity is just the way the mass effect universe justifies the extra damage (think about the high velocity barrel).

The code for this gear doesn't exist. In the gear pcc files a "game effect" for them is not defined, most of it is damage, melee damage, shield speed, etc, but not force/velocity/anything. Without that this would do nothing. There are also no stats for it defined in Coalesced.

I would've actually liked this, it could have been 20-25% increase at level V hopefully they will put something like this in the next MP.

My guess too (see the shotguns and assault rifles categories, where higher velocity provides piercing) : a 12% damage bonus + some piercing + a % of armor damage reduction ignored. Basically a reduced HVB. Could have opened more possibilities regarding the choice of mods and ammo. Possibly OP though depending of the % of armor DR ignored.

Damage + Stagger Force (Like Disciple) would also have been welcome.
