Now why can't they just give us those names for the actual release? Shieldsplosion sounds so much cooler than "Enhanced Shield Wall".
Have you found any other interesting internal names for abilities?
I sort of just name files whatever I feel like at the time that properly distinguishes it. Writing/Editing goes through every single piece of in-game text before it ships though to give it the DA flavor (and make it appropriate
)
As for this issue and some other specific ones in this thread: MP environment has this weird issue where it sometimes desyncs impacts and causes them to fire multiple times instead of the intended once. Happens a lot with any kind of burning damage as well as the shield detonation for the Qunari Guardsman clearly.

Desyncs, huh? I wonder what causes that? Maybe if the enemy takes too much damage from all players?

4 meters in front of the Guardsman and it should only goes off if you've hit his shield 5 times (which a single energy barrage or baquon barrage would do). It is intended to only fire one damage impact but clearly that isn't happening.

Just out of curiosity, is it supposed to be going off even after the guardsman has been killed?

Yea, happened to me and got it recorded and watched in slow mo. Got hit 5 times after the guardsman died.

Also Spellbinder's Elemental Mines, Mage's electrical slides and Elemental attacks, the auto attacks of both, Qunari mooks' fire flasks, Qunari Commander's elemental mines, Saarebas' spirit mines and in rare cases even regular Wraith attacks.
Is there any hope of this ever being fixed or will we simply have to deal with the fact that most enemy magic attacks will randomly deal 5x damage and may either one-hit kill us or kill us within a few seconds?

Yup happened to me again yesterday as well. Whatever it is it happens well, well, well after any real action is taken either way. It is never a case of we kill a guy, thee is an expulsion and I go down. It is more like, we kill a spawn, look towards the next spawn which is way far away, run a number of steps or just stand there for a few seconds then boom you are down.

Blergh! Just had a fun variant of this where all 3 of my team mates fell to this nonsense at the exact same time. Everything was dead, I am playing Luka and stealthing my way towards the next zone. Baaam! Three red skulls out of nowhere on the left side of the screen!

How did I do what? Killed my team mates and trying to blame it on the Qunari? ![]()
Very easy! Just throw some bugged elemental mines and press 123 very quickly on your keyboard, this will turn on friendly fire for a very few seconds, so when they run through beneath the floating mines....
